The glass dine-in cups and plates were being put into a dishwasher, which was under the counter, as he was getting them back from either the customers or from Chai. The bell on the door rang and someone sat down in front of George in Clay's chair. Since it was Clay's chair he clearly would've thought it was Clay.
"The normal, Clay?" he asked, turning around to get the drink ready.
"I'm not Clay..'' George blinked and looked over his shoulder, there sat, in his best friends (and crushes, not that he'd admit it to himself yet) seat was one of the top heroes. George turned his whole body around and hummed, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall.
"Good morning Dream, what is it I can get for you?" You could tell that he was forcing the smile on his face, the sweetness in his voice, until he remembered what happened the other day and his shoulders dropped. Clay rarely saw George like this, he had only seen it once or twice, that was when he hadn't gotten any sleep or that time Scarlet snuck out to do whatever teenagers do nowadays.
Dream, not wanting to make him angrier, hummed "hard morning?" George just shrugged and let his head lean against the wall. Dream was in his work uniform as always, his hair visible and his smile was wide and toothy. George never understood the mask that covered everything but his mouth, then again it's probably for deaf kids to lip read for those 'stay in school' videos Tommy and Scarlet talk about all the time.
"Hard week." George nodded and pushed off the wall, greeting Chai as she came back in and got set on wiping down tables and getting things ready for others, the next rush was going to be more tiring then the first. "Anyways, what is it you want to drink?"
Dream hummed, like he was looking at the menu but his head never moved upwards for him to see what was on there, he was acting. He already knew all the drinks, like he had been here before, maybe he had. "I don't see you on the menu" he hummed, George felt the males eyes lay back on his face.
"What do you want?" George was getting kinda annoyed, he had another customer to tend to. with Dream, one of the top heroes being a dumbass like this, it's going to piss him off and quickly. "If you don't know, read through the menu and i'll get back to you." he walked over to the other person while Dream watched him silently.
Okay, so he didn't like that one.. Clay thought to himself before looking through every drink, coming to the conclusion he wanted a George. That wasn't a drink more of a person but still, he watched as the barista walked over to one of the mini fridges and pulled out a jug of milk, adding a few things and then pouring the milk in, he put it back before placing a plastic lid over the cup "Number 34 chocolate milk to go!" he called out, Clay loved watching george work, it just seemed so peaceful, then again he hasn't been around during rush hours.
Clay hummed, he needed to give the male a drink he wanted to drink but didn't want him to catch onto him being who he is as he was working at the moment, well other then the fact he is on break. But he was still in uniform so George had no idea who he was. "Do you know what you want yet?" He asked, clearly annoyed.
Dream hummed "can I have a.." He actually looked at the menu.. Only now just releasing that they had drinks named after vigilantes and villains, it surprised him a lot.. Then they had the holiday specials. Okay so there were drinks named after heroes as well. What caught his eye was the 404 drink, just a rocky road chiller, he had a feeling there was a twist with it. "What's the 404 drink?"
"Can't you read?" George asked with a roll of his eyes, wishing that he could get another customer to come over and make him serve them instead of this hero. "It's a rocky road chiller, you can have extra marshmallows and whipped cream if you'd like." He was most likely going to spit in his drink while the hero wasn't looking.
Dream nodded. "Okay.. I'll have that with extra marshmallows." He nodded, he wanted to know the twist to the drink. Was it actually good or was it sour or some shit? Dream rested his elbows on the counter, his chin resting against his hand. "Do I get you on the side..?"
George was normally okay with flirting, well with Clay's flirting. Even when they first met he was fine with it, after all he thought an attractive male flirting with him was a good sign, that was when he relised he was gay- other than the fact he would normally walk around in skirts and dresses because he could and wanted to say fuck you to gender norms.
Even working as 404 on certain days or holidays- even during pride month he'd wear a different LGBTQIA+ flag either as gloves, a skirt or whatever. Most heroes probably thought he was weird for it, Dream whenever he saw him in a skirt for the first time had to like handle not walking away to find a jacket to put over it so it wouldn't fly up during a fight.
Ever since he had brought one with him to every battle just in case, he didn't want anyone being flashed during a fight.
George was too lazy to put shorts or pants on this morning and pulled on a skirt instead, a soft blue skirt with a peachy sweater covered at the front by the stores signature black aprons with the staff members prefered name on it.
The aprons also have a few personal things on the bottom of it, just for that person to feel more happy about it, they got to customise their own apron.
George glared at Dream. "Do I have to kick you out to get you to shut your mouth 'Dweam'?" Okay.. He was not in a good mood.
Was Clay going to push it..?
Yes, yes he was.
"Come on baby, you wouldn't do that to me.."
George's eye twitched, forget not spitting in Dreams drink. "I'd prefer if you didn't call me that."
Dream hummed, he could see the other was mad, he's never gotten mad at Clay when Clay called him baby, then again this is Dream not Clay. Dream, really badly wanted to test his luck today. "Okay how about.." He thought for a moment "princess, baby cakes, angel?"
George clenched his hands out of anger, he was so glad the hero picked a drink he himself would drink, otherwise making this would be a waste. "Get out." George said, adding in the extra marshmallows.
Did he really not like those nicknames? Dream hummed and looked at George, he looked really angry "Are you kicking me out?"
"Yes, I am, now get out before I get the Blade over there to throw you out for me." George pointed to the villain, sipping his 5th tea since he came in, mainly there to read a story which was held in a bookcase. The villain set down his book and cup, pulling his mask all the way down and waving before cracking his knuckles.
Dream knew how this place worked, if a hero or a villain was kicked out for the first time they weren't allowed back into the shop for five to eight days and there was a list with their name on it, once their name was removed they were allowed back inside (The list is on the window behind the counter).
Dream sighed, not wanting to fight or argue with the Blade, it seemed like it would end up killing him. "Do I at least get my drink cupcake?"
George placed a straw into the drink which was originally Dream's, he started to drink it while keeping eye contact "out."
Dream took that as a no and sighed, heading to the door "you look good in a skirt." he smiled and left, pouting a bit, he never got that drink, he'd have to try it as Clay instead of Dream.
