Natasha's workout did exactly what she wanted it to do. It cleared her head, allowing her to consider what Yelena had said. Her hands were slightly bruised as she didn't wrap them as well as she usually does, but even that slight pain didn't distract her.

As she entered her room, her sneakers caught the edge of her rug, tripping her up and flipping up the edge of the rug. With spy-like reflexes, Nat caught herself before she fell, landing crouched on the floor, breathing heavily. Her heart raced at the scare of slipping, like when your foot slides off the edge of the stairs.

She turned around to fold the edge of the mat down, but a slip of paper caught her eye. At first, she thought it was the label, but upon closed inspection she recognised the scratchy handwriting of the blonde who was probably the other side of the wall.

The piece of paper was torn, very clearly out of a school exercise book as the edges were really jagged. But she turned it over and her eyes widened as she read the message. Her heart dropped slightly in her stomach and she let out a shaky breath.

Yelena meant well, but Nat felt sick at the thought of her confronting Lia. Her little sister was never shy, and this sometimes got her into trouble. Especially with Nat, who wasn't one for open conversations. To say Nat was angry would be an understatement, but her thoughts drifted to Lia. What had she said to Yelena when asked? What if she'd been scared away and never wanted to talk to Nat again?

But, almost like her mind was read, her phone vibrated in her pocket. The whole situation had set her nerves on fire, and the usually cool, calm Natasha Romanoff flinched at the noise from her phone.

As she hadn't turned on the main light in her room, her phone screen lit up her phone as she pulled it from her pocket. The room was slightly dark as the sun was just beginning to set. Her heart sped up again as she saw the contact name.

From: Lia the lizard🦎

Hey
Can you meet me?

She read the message and a million different scenarios ran through her head. Where was casual, not-really-bothered-about-anything Natasha? Her whole persona had been wiped out by a single message from a girl. A girl she couldn't hide her feelings from anymore. It was tearing them both apart from the inside, but the couple of months had been a whirlwind. From complete strangers to blushing messes, Nat had found herself in a situation she never thought she'd find herself in.

Gripping her phone with both hands, she typed out a response.

Sure
Do you want to come here?

Time felt as if it slowed down as the 'typing...' message showed up. But Nat couldn't help but let out a breathy laugh as she read Lia's reply.

Yes! Thank god you suggested that because I don't know this place well enough for a meeting place

The front door is open for you

:)

The smiley face was signature Lia, and Nat couldn't help but smile with it. She quickly changed out of her workout gear into a sweatshirt and jeans, taking her hair out of her braid and running her hands through it. She sprayed a bit of perfume, suddenly conscious that she smelt bad - she didn't.
