"So, what now?" Banner asked, tapping his fingers on the table you all sat at.

It had been one week since the attack on New York, you all had regrouped together in Stark Tower to discuss future plans for the Avengers. You didn't know how you got included in this, but Stark said it was because you "stayed for the whole wild ride."

"I say we forget about this, put the cat back in the bag y'know?" Tony suggested.

"I disagree," Steve interjected. "The world has seen our power together now, so it's not too farfetched to think more things like this will happen, right?"

"Yeah," Natasha agreed, "more criminals doing worse things because now they have the challenge."

"Wouldn't us forgetting about this fix that problem right up?"  Stark repeated.

"That won't stop them from attacking, they won't know if we'll respond or not unless they attack first," Steve explained.

"Simple, we don't respond," said Tony.

"That'll just make them mad, and they'll do more things just to get a reaction outta you," you told Tony.

"And if we don't respond who will?" Steve added.

"No one, how will someone even obtain the same amount of power Loki had without the Tesseract? As long as Loki and the Tesseract are back on Asgard where Thor put them we'll be fine," Bruce looked over at Thor, "right?"

Thor's face suddenly appeared guilty, "yes, without the Tesseract no other on earth should be able to gain power of that sort."

"And without Loki here, right?" Steve edged on.

Thor didn't respond for a moment, and everyone gave him 'that look', "if I take him back to Asgard I'm afraid my father will take his life-"

"Good, that's what he deserves," Clint interrupted.

Raising his voice, Thor's expression changed to an irritated one, "he's my brother."

Barton matched his tone in return, "You have no idea what it's like for someone to go inside your head and toy with it. What your brother is, is a killer who doesn't deserve life."

"I don't know what it's like to have my head played around with, but maybe Loki does."

"The hell are you trying to suggest?"

"I think he was being controlled by his scepter too."

"Oh definitely, yeah it doesn't seem weird at all for him to be controlled by his own magic scepter."

"That staff isn't his, it's from the Chitauri, they must've found him after he faked his death on Asgard and taken command over his mind."

"Loki leveled an entire small town trying to kill you, I don't reckon someone would have to be in control of him to do what he did to us."

"Thor might be right," you butted in. "When I saw Loki in his cell his eyes were the same shade of blue as the stone on the scepter, and isn't that what happened to all the eyes of the people he took control of?"

Stark stopped everyone from saying anything else, "Where is Loki? I'm pretty sure that's the bigger problem on our hands right now."

"He's currently in, uh, um...New Mexico," Thor replied guiltily.

Drawing some sort of technologically advanced map, Stark pulled up New Mexico, "New Mexico is a big place bud, be more exact."

Thor's face grew more guilty.

"You have no idea don't you?"

"It's near the town that Loki...nearly leveled."

"Correction, he did level it. Anyways how about we all hop on one of my jets and pay our old friend a visit?"

Everyone thought for a second before speaking again.

"Pass, I don't know if that would be the best idea for me," Bruce paused. "Or the other guy, he's got some pent-up rage towards Loki."

"I'll pass too, I don't wanna 'accidentally' put an arrow through his head, or heart."

"Lame-o's, c'mon, it'll be some fun family bonding time, and I forgot to mention none of you have a choice, you're all coming with."

Stark stood up, closing the map and straightening out his suit jacket.

Steve glared at him skeptically, "what's with the change in attitude?"

He started back equally confused, "you mean you don't wanna get to the bottom of this, and find out if he was controlled or not?"

Clint gave Stark the same look Steve did, "what if he wasn't being controlled and he is evil like we've thought this whole time?"

"Then we lock him up, no questions asked."

"And if he isn't?" Natasha asked.

"We'll worry about that when we cross that bridge, but for now we have a reindeer to catch."
