Lia and Kai were behind the camera of Emi’s first guesting. Her role as an actor was slated to be official today as she was in the hot seat with the hosts of GMA. Lia and Kai were just as nervous as Emi as the cameras started rolling.

Host 1: We are so excited to have the final cast member of the upcoming fantasy show, Ancestors. Let’s give a round of applause to Emi Kim [applauds as camera focuses on Emi]

Emi: Thank you so much for the warm welcome.

Host 2: Thank you for joining us. So Emi, we hear this is your first interview ever as well as your first project. What an exciting time for you. Can you tell us about the first time you stepped into that audition?

Emi: It was very nerve wracking for sure. I was actually given the partial script by my manager, Lia, right before heading into the audition. It is to be noted though, I was not informed it would be an audition until I got into the room.

Host 1: Really? You were really thrown into it.

Emi: You could say that, but Lia and Kai, my stylist, know me well enough to make that call. I am beyond grateful to them both for throwing me into that opportunity.

Host 2: What were your thoughts when you were casted?

Emi: Terrified. Jumping into this career path was not planned at all, but just like most events in life, not everything can be planned.

Host 1: Very true. How is it working with these award winning actors?

Emi: Beyond surreal. When I found out that both Daniel Henney and Daniel Kim were not only directing, but also a part of the cast, I was thrilled. I have watched Henney in Korean media since he debuted as well as when he joined my favorite unit in the FBI. When I met Daniel Kim, I was starstruck, because he was my first exposure to a Korean actor in Western Media.

Host 2: That’s a great point and kind of something that comes full circle. How about the rest of the cast?

Emi: That was a bit harder to grasp, because I had watched each of them in their most highly acclaimed and well known works. I was an emotional wreck when I watched their works and were casted with them.

Host 1: Did you get to audition with any of them?

Emi: Actually all of them. When we all reunited at the first table read, it was a breath of fresh air, because they were excited to see me as much as I was seeing them.

Host 2: Now we got to meet each of your castmates and they talked about the character they are playing. Can you tell us a little about your character, Min?

[In the background, Emi’s promotional videos played, highlighting her scenes with Stewart, Carly, and Evan]

Emi: I play Min Lee, daughter to Jung Lee - Daniel Henney’s character. She works at the local bookstore and has been friends with Peter - Evan Letter’s character, for many years. The madness begins after she meets Mariana and Luca. Min is up for the challenge in learning more about the cause of the mixing of their reality with the fantasy world and her role in all of this.

Host 1: Now that’s something I will definitely tune into. Thank you for having us as your first interviewers. It was a pleasure, but we are not done with you yet. [Emi nodded] We will see you at Central Park in a little bit for our Summer Concert Series.

Emi: Yes, I will see you and the rest of the viewers at Central Park. Thank you! [Emi bowed and waved to the camera]

Lia and Kai were quick to grab Emi and have the security guards guide them to their car. Before Emi reached the car, she took a look at the people cheering. One fan, in particular, caught her eye. “Em, we gotta go,” Kai signaled her to get in the car. Emi needed a minute to speak with the fan.
