Start from the beginning

It had been over a month since I left the demon slayer corps, and I was currently just wandering from place to place, too cautious to settle down anywhere due to the threat of demons. So for now, I was just trying to kill as many demons as possible while traveling around Japan.

The gun on my belt clinked as I walked through the forest filled with demons of all kinds, though most of them were weak and easy to kill with just the flick of my wrist, not worth sparing them a second glance.

I pause as sudden claps echo through the woods I stood in. A slightly slurred and bright voice spoke from the thickets. The presence made my eyes narrow at the sheer power it held, making me immediately on guard.

"He told me you were powerful, but I didn't realize that you could kill a demon with just a flick of the wrist." The voice spoke, it was cheerful and welcoming, sending small shivers down my spine. My face still held no emotion as my hand twitched at my side, getting ready to attack at the right moment.

It was risky going out at this time for a demon, as the sun would begin to rise in roughly half an hour. 'So this demon's probably full of itself' I thought as I strained my ears to listen for any movements. "My~my~ you really are beautiful...And that blood of yours smells absolutely delicious." It spoke through the trees. My eyes scanned through the dark woods as I remained on high alert.

A single movement caught my eye and within a split second, I took the gun from my belt and shot.

Wind breathing, Tenth Form: Dragons Breath.

The bullet was basically invisible due to its speed and hit its target in the head, making the demon's blood leak onto the grass beneath its feet. I heard it chuckle. "I didn't expect that. Good shot." It spoke cheerfully. The gun remained in my hands as I kept it raised in the shadow as it approached my form.

Its rainbow eyes glowed in the night as I furrowed my brows while angling my body so it didn't see me unsheathe my katana with my free hand, the gun was lowered at my side as the side of my body faced the target while it slowly approached, making me twitch with anticipation and annoyance.

It was silent between us while my haori and (h/l) (h/c) hair danced in the night's cool breeze. The moon reflected the sun's light and shone minimal rays on the forest we resided in while a tense silence surrounded us. Neither one of us dared to speak as the crows fly over the forest and the stars watch us with intent. The night sky's clouds covered the moon, making it almost impossible to see in the dense and dark woods, forcing me to rely on tracking its presence. My grip around the gun and blade tightened as my body twitched with anticipation.

I tensed when the demon brought out two fans that glistened in the moonlight, making me furrow my brows. 'Those are his weapons?' I thought while my finger tapped impatiently on the trigger and I exhaled.

Suddenly, a blur rushed towards my form at breakneck speeds, making my eyes widen, and quickly put my katana in a backhanded position before forcing my blade in front of me and blocking the attack. You could mistake the sparks for stars as they flew through the air. I raised my gun as I gritted my teeth and placed the barrel against the demon's head as my hand that held the blade began to shake due to the pressure the demon put on my sword.

I furrowed my brows and slid the fans off my blade, before stepping to the side and shooting the demon in the head, causing more blood to spill. The demon stumbled forward a little before holding its head and chuckling, making me narrow my eyes. "You're so fast! I didn't even see you place the gun next to my head!" It turned back to me, its rainbow eyes still glowed. I swallowed thickly as I read the engraved markings the eyes held.
