"BEEP BEEP BEEP" My eyes fluttered open, "Ughh... Why is my alarm going off..? " I asked myself groggily with my eyes half-open. Then it hit me. I shot up out of my bed, my stuffed bear flinging out of my arms. "Oh sorry, Mr. Fluff..." I muttered to my stuffed bear, placing him near my pillow. I jumped off my platform bed, then practically ripped off my pajamas and quickly started to put on my favorite outfit, a lapis-colored turtle-neck, acid-washed denim overall dress along with black knee-high socks. I brushed my hair at the same time, letting it sprawl across my shoulders. If you couldn't tell, today was my first day back at school, and I wanted to look the best I could. I rushed out of my room but was quickly stopped by my mom "Hun, do you want to braid your hair, like you often do?" My mom suggested, holding a paper bag — supposedly my brother's lunch, guessing by the text on it that said 'Desmond' "No thanks, this time, I instead want to let my hair loose. I think It'll be nice!" I explained, my mom sighed, walking over to the table, setting down the flimsy brown bag next to another bag, definitely mine. "Of course sweetie. Just.. make sure you look the best you can and have a great time!" She gave a weak smile "she's probably overwhelmed." I thought to myself. "Alright, I will!" I gave her a big smile while grabbing the paper bag with 'Adeline' messily scribbled onto it. I walked over to the door, slipping on my white canvas sneakers and grabbing my ice blue backpack with one hand then swinging it over my shoulders. "Love you mom! Tell Desmond I love him too!" I yelled to my mother as I opened the door and walked out onto the stone path surrounded by somewhat fluffy beige grass. It eventually transitioned into a concrete sidewalk as I turned down the block and started walking to school.
A light breeze blew through my hair, messing it up slightly, somewhat in my face. I parted the hair in my eyes and then continued walking. However, I walked slowly, taking up as much time to enjoy the scenery. It looked as if it came straight from a movie, with the sun on the east horizon, shining onto the sidewalk, most leaves just beginning to become red, some falling onto the beige grass. And even a little clump of skinny mushrooms next to a stunning fully red maple tree. As I walked past my neighbor's yard, I noticed that in her garden most flowers were starting to wither away, while the Chrysanthemums thrived, giving off a rather herby smell, mixed with the sweet smell of autumn, making me feel rather pleasant, for the first day of school. While I have the time, I might as well inform you about my town. I live in a small, very much secluded town called Cieldiara, a quaint yet lovely town, however rarely ever gets any visitors, but when we do, we don't really put on our best show, rather, try and seem rather mean and unwelcome to the visitor and make our town look like, well, not the best location to visit, because, rather, we don't want the rest of society to know about our blessing that the gods gave to us, Magic.

As I walked into the school entrance I looked around, for it was all the same, the classic white-ish tiles, some not aligned correctly, the boring midnight lockers, soon to be covered with stickers, decals, and all sorts of other decorations, and of course, the bright blaring lights above, occasionally flickering, all in a seemingly endless hallway. Even though I was sure I would get sick of the sight eventually, I still smiled to myself. I turned left and spotted my friends talking near the wall. I was about to greet them but instead, they noticed me first. "Hey Adeline!" I heard Kaelie yell. Everybody turned around and a smile immediately appeared on their faces. I smiled back at them as I walked over to them with one hand on my backpack strap. They all greeted me, and I greeted them as well.
We talked until the bell rang signaling that we had to go to our classes. Students abruptly started running and pushing their way to class. I, however, stayed behind and pulled out my sheet of paper that had all my classes scribbled on it, and I, as well, started pushing my way through the crowds of other students, making my way to my first class.
