Lilac took the book off the shelf. It was covered in dust and when she blew it off, it formed a small cloud. The leather cover had no writing on it. She looked on the inside but still no writing.

"That's strange." she thought. "Why would a library ever need a blank book?"

What was even weirder was that the book looked really worn out, like generations of hands had touched the cover. Not enough to wear out any writing, though.

Lilac went up to one of the librarians to tell her about the book she found. She figured it was probably there on accident.

"Um... Excuse me but I found this book with no writing on one of the shelves, and I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be there or not." she stammered while playing with her jet black hair. The librarian responded with "No, not at all. All of these books are here for a reason." "Ok... so can I check it out? I don't have a library card yet." "Of coarse you can! You'll just have to get a card at the front desk." "Ok thanks!" Lilac responded and walked away.

Lilac plopped her backpack down on the nearest table. As a result she got a couple annoyed stares pointed in her direction. She could feel the blood run up to her face.

"Ok I'm just going to find the other books and leave these here." She whispered to herself.

Lilac covered the book with her backpack. She had a feeling that the less people that knew about it, the better.

She made her way over to the B section to find the Sisters Grimm series.

"I think I'll just take these" she casually said while taking the first 3 books. "It'll probably get me through the next week at least"

I have to get rid of this 'talking to myself' habit, she thought. People will start thinking I'm actually crazy. Unless everyone does this and they all are just trying to fit in... Ok enough of that, now let's go back to the table and try to stop having a conversation with myself.

She went back to the table and looked under her backpack. Fortunately, it was still there.

Lilac walked over to the checkout isles. The librarian from earlier was working there.

"Back already?" she asked. "Yes actually"

She gave the books to the librarian. After the three Sisters Grimm books were check out, the librarian swiped the scanner over the back cover of the book, and to Lilac's surprise it beeped without anything there.

"Have a good time reading! And by the way, by name is Amanda. When you're done with that book-and the others-you can tell me about your adventure." the librarian told her. "Alright?" Lilac replied.

She was confused by all this talk about the mysterious book but intrigued. Then Lilac put all the books into her backpack and walked out the door.

~I'm so sorry for not updating for a while. I just didn't have much motivation to write. The next chapter will hopefully be done soon~
