synopsis!
DAISY KA'UHANE and her twin brother, Kai, are going to stay with their, extremely rich, aunt in the outer banks for the summer. It was sort of tradition, that each year they'd spend a couple weeks with their Aunt Lorelei and cousin, Anna. But for unknown reasons, their parents basically forbid them from ever going back. That was a couple years ago — Five to be exact.
But before then, they were known for being everyone's favorite 'tourons'. They each spent their time on opposite sides of the island with their respective friend groups. That was on account of Daisy meeting a certain 'kook gone rogue' and Kai making friends with the most arrogant snobs of the Figure Eight.
Daisy and Kiara Carrera used to be thick as thieves. The girls spent every waking moment together: whether it was watching baby sea turtles hatch on the coastal line, or catching fireflies in glass jars in the late summer evenings. And when Daisy had to leave for the incoming school year, they continued to write & call to each other nonstop. The next summer never seemed to come quick enough.
