unit-01 has finally started it's assent to godhood
"say it, allow me to awaken and all the pain will disappear" a voice said soothingly the words that have been plastered into shinji ikari's head from the beginning the words that would cause the angel that is unit-01 to go inert by it's awakening by the blades awakening
"manifest" i whispered instantly things changed as unit-01's golden wings shattered as lilith was wiped from existance the true awakening of unit-01 which released yui ikari granting her a new body through the dead corpse of lilith the soul was replaced by that of something far more powerful
"violent dragon that feasts on gods flesh and blood, pierce the cloudy heavens......." i chanted
"say it say my name and everything will be right" the voice continued
"bahamut" i said in that moment unit-01 began to transform in the place of the golden wings two purple dragonic wings sprouted from unit-01's back as the EVA got down on all fours it's limbs began to transform and take a more beastial persona as it's neck extended and it's head transformed as it's mouth cracked open and elongated until their stood unit-01 not as a humanoid but as a dragon
revealing yui ikari's secret she created twelve eva's units 1 through 11 and unit-13 each one however she placed a draconic soul within she used special blades which held the souls bahamut was the last she deposited doing so personally which is what caused asuka's mother to place a blade into unit-02
but only shinji new the commands to activate the transformation not even asuka's mother knew
the now draconic EVA appeared directly in front of unit-02 instantly slaughtering two of the unmanned EVAs before turning it's head to unit to pulling out the lance that was embedded into two of the EVAs four eyes it placed a claw over the EVA and miraculously mending the damage also healing asuka in the process
"shinji" asuka whispered completely in awe as the draconic EVA spread it's majestic wings and took flight striking down the four unmanned EVAs that had already taken flight leaving two remaining
"violent abyss" i whispered as the dragon opened it's mouth and a giant crimson beam left through the beasts mouth leaving nothing left of the two unmanned EVAs
"well done shinji, now come on home" misato said through comms but unit-01 had other plans as it turned away from NERV and upward it ascended
"unit-01 you are to return to base immediately" gendo said but was yet again ignored as the draconic EVA continued to ascend
"ma'am pilot ikari is completely unconscious he can't respond unit-01 is acting entirely of it's own accord
"no bahamut is acting of it's own accord in attempt to protect it's master who awakened it" yui said who walked into the command room
"yui" gendo said in shock and happiness
"we will talk later" yui replied you could tell by her voice she was not happy
"is that why his numbers suddenly tanked to zero" misato asked
"yes, but also no, you see now that bahamut is awake there is no longer a need to sync with unit-01 it has gained complete sentience however it is loyal to the master that is piloting it when it awakens, there only two individuals that can awaken the dragon within the EVAs i am one of the but i refuse to do so the other is shinji himself, he is the one who will decide when you are worthy of the power the dragons wield" yui said
"so there is one for unit 2 and 0" misato asked
"to my recollection yes, tiamat is in unit-02, and unit-00 has fafnir" yui said
"do you know where unit, excuse me bahamut is going" gendo asked curiously
"if i had to guess, bahamut is taking him to another dimension" i said
"THE DRAGONS CAN DO THAT" misato asked shocked
"no only bahamut because of unit-01's unique qualities it absorbed lilith's soul entirely making the body nothing but a corpse, bahamut was known as the strongest and our bahamut definitely is the strongest, though i believe that if bahamut so wished he could take other dragons with, once awoken however, a pilot no longer must be inside to control it and can command it remotely, so shinji essentially has a guard dog of sorts that can transform between it's full blown dragon state or it's much more agile humanoid state" yui said
