ES AU: Sonic Speed

A New Friend?

Speed is looking down on the sea, he's flying to the Sunbelt Continent due to Rust heading there as well. He hopes that he isn't too late

Speed: I wonder how my family is doing?

He clearly missed them, he hoped to see them again one day. Should he show them his new ability is the question

Speed: Maybe no...

He sighs, he was nearing the place so shaking the thought off, he decides to land the Cyclone. He did not want to see someone in trouble moments after he lands, this will just feel like a repeated cycle all over

Speed: What am i even thinking? Of course there's going to be someone in trouble, it seems to just stick with me

Landing the plane, he gets off. He was in a small grassy plain

Speed: Huh? Thought that this place would be rocks and magma

He dashes off, not bothering to hide the plane as he didn't think anyone would find it

Speed: Fire types might be common here... I mean, this place has the name "Sun" in it, of course there's going to be a lot of fire Pokemon just as there were lot of flying or wind type in the Windstorm Continent

He sighs and continues to run, he is definitely faster than a regular Jolteon as their maximum speed is around 198MPH-269MPH (Idk about their actual speed, this is just in this AU) He didn't know how fast he was going without the help of Julius since he usually was the one keeping track of his speed. He hopes that he can find a way to "cure" him one day

Speed: It's already kind of peaceful-

He then hears a scream as his face deadpanned

Speed: Spoke a little too early... Why does this happen to me?

Sighing, he dashes towards the source of the screaming. He stops right infront of a lake to see two tails in the lake, his eyes widened and he dives right in, not caring of his fear for water. He somehow manages to pull them out and breathed in and out, he really hated water... Although, it really wasn't that bad, maybe he should try to swim sometimes...

Shaking his head, he turns to look at the Pokemon he has just saved... It was a Vulpix who was breathing heavily while sitting

Speed: Are you alright kid?

The Vulpix nodded

Vulpix: Thank you Mr.

Speed: No worries kid, just happy to- huh?

He then noticed his tail

Speed: Hey, don't Vulpix normally grow six tails? How old are you?

Vulpix:... I'm eight...

Speed: They normally grow them all around six... What's with you?

He asked with genuine curiosity and concern, hoping it wasn't all that bad... Man, how many times has he thought of the word 'hope' today?

Vulpix: Oh uh... I'm kind of born with some kind of disability, my cells stopped mutating completely and resulted in me only having two tails

He looked down sad while Speed paused, he thinks a little before speaking

Speed: Then what's the problem with that?

Vulpix: Other kids tend to make fun of me, other Vulpix says i'm a disgrace to their kind and my parents left me completely

He looked like he was about to cry which reminded Speed of Sunshine, the saddened face was what caused the reminder. He sits right next to him and pats him on the back
