The clouds formed together, making the world covered with shadows. Thunder rumbled, warning everyone it was about to rain soon. I headed out of my apartment and walked on the concrete side-walk. While admiring the weather, my phone buzzed. I took it out and noticed a message from Kenzie.

"Hey Charlotte! Are you on your way?"

"Yes I am." I typed then kept walking, putting my hands in my pockets of my jacket.

Once I arrived, my eyes searched for Kenzie. She would always meet me by my locker, but I guess today she wasn't. Turning around, my ears perked out from a sound of a cry.

"Where's your girlfriend?" The person snickered.

"S-She's not here yet."

The person screamed in fear. I immediately ran, hearing the two of them in A-4.

"Help!" The person called, starting to choke.

My eyes landed on Kenzie, seeing her fighting with Jason. She was struggling to push him away while he was strangling her. I sprinted in action with a war cry. I kicked Jason in the stomach then punched his face.

"Touch her again, I'll fucking kill you." I said under my breath, speaking loud for him to hear.

He slowly got up, touching his lip and see a bleeding mark on his finger. I turned my head and hugged Kenzie.

"Are you okay? Did he hurt you anywhere else? Why did this happen?" I asked, touching her shoulders.

"I-I'm fine," Kenzie spoke softly, our eyes meeting.

With a hint of someone from behind, I immediately turned and elbowed the person's stomach, seeing Jason ached.

"What the fuck?!" He scowled.

"That's what you get for hurting my girlfriend, dumbass." I said, grabbing his messy brown hair.

I lifted his face and punched his nose. Kenzie gasped, covering her mouth on her hands. Jason groaned in pain, breathing heavily as if he carried something heavy. I crossed my arms in disappointment, kicking between him. Falling on the floor, I grabbed Kenzie's hand and headed out of classroom. Turning to Kenzie again, our eyes met; a sad guilt were filled with hers.

"Why did Jason try to kill you?" I asked.

"Um, I-I don't know." She stuttered.

She looked down while rubbing her own arm, sighing quietly. I lifted her chin up then got close to her.

"Hey, you can tell me. If he told you not to tell me, I'll go beat his ass again." I said, putting a strain of hair behind her ear.

I put my hand on her cheek, admiring her with worry; Kenzie blushed then landed her hand on mine.

"Maybe...Jason can tell you himself. He wants you to meet him after class." She finally spoke.

I gave a slight nod then kissed her lips, telling her everything would be okay. Pulling away, I smiled and hugged her.

"You'll be okay. I promise." I said, giving her a tight squeeze.

"Thank you, Charlotte."

The bell rung, and I put my notebook in my bag then headed out the classroom. Walking on the path of the school, my arm was grabbed then got pinned against the wall.

"Hey, there, cutie~" Jason smirked.

"Get away from me!" I yelled, pushing him away.

Before I could get out of sight, I was slapped across the face, falling on the floor. Jason's two friends pulled me up by my arms, getting punched in the stomach by the bastard himself. I yelped, tears pricking my eyes.
