"You can't go on blaming yourself for Diego's death. You couldn't have known that he was running into a trap." Elena says.
Jack inhales sharply, taking the beer bottle.
"Stop this!" Elena grabs the bottle of the man.
"Elena - just let me be." Jack gets up. He walks to the fridge, taking another beer out.
"I'm not. I told you that I will never give up on you. No matter what happens. And - you know that Diego wants you to go out there. Keep the streets safe. As much as it is possible."
Jack turns to the feisty D.A., whose warm chestnut eyes gleam tenderly, pleading to him to listen to her.
He drags on his cigarette, putting the bottle on the kitchen counter.
Extinguishing the cigarette, he runs his hands through his hair. "It hurts like Hell. He was the best partner - best friend I ever had"
"I know" Elena walks over to him, running her hands down his arms. "I'm here for you. Always. Jack nods, locking his eyes with hers. "I don't deserve you."
Elena tilts her head a little, making a sweet little chuckle. "I know how you can begin to deserve me."
"Cortadito and Churros?" Jack says.
"Exactly. But you need a good meal. So, I'm buying."
"Right. Let me hit the shower and we can go to Amelia's 1931."
"You got it." Elena chuckles a little, taking her phone. She texts her friend Bonnie, cancelling their girl's night out.
