NATALIE OSWALD had been working in the 99th precinct of the NYPD since finishing her training. She was the top detective on the team. That was, until one year, JAKE PERALTA topped her number of arrests by one, prompting a bet. If Natalie got the most arrests, she would get his car. If Jake got the most arrests, he would get to take her on a date.
Natalie Oswald couldn't think of anything worse than a date with Jake Peralta. She could see them as friends, yes. But going on a date? Even if it were for a joke, she most certainly wouldn't risk it. She was determined to win this bet.
