Ever since Duke Floyen lost his wife his world was broken to pieces, but his daughter whom he loves the most help him go through it, those small hands that wraps around his finger and those tiny giggles that his daughter made, give him a slight hope that there is still worth living even though his beloved wife is gone. But that happiness was soon taken again when the emperor knew what his weakness was and used it against him. He loves his daughter so he agreed to what the emperor said for the sake of his daughter, he felt defeated and pathetic of himself, he can't do anything. The last thing he love was also taken from him again...

The pain that made his heart ache was unbearable, He tried everything he could to make it go, By using magic, overworking himself, and even trying to kill himself which he did not continue for he imagined what will happen if his daughter lost her father too and it terrified him, his last resort was now is to take a break from all of the paperwork and maybe drink some alcohol to forget about his problems in his life...

When he entered the city he was almost blinded by the lights by how bright they shone. Strolling through the markets looking for a winery he stopped in his tracks as he was mesmerized by the beauty of a woman he saw across the street, he looked at her with glistening eyes and soon the woman turned to see him looking at her, she was slightly flustered and gave the man a small smile before continuing what she was doing. The Duke fell for her.....He thinks, because of how much the woman resembles his deceased wife.

(Readers POV)

Feeling the gaze of someone looking at me, I tilt my head to see who it was, though what I only saw was a hooded man I still catch a glimpse of his face. It made me flustered by how long he was looking at me, I only gave him a small smile before continuing what I was doing.

After finishing the work that was assigned to me I hurriedly walk home to take some rest. While walking I heard someone calling my name, "Y/N!!!" I look to see who it was and saw Mr.Ludwig, He was obviously drunk, He has a bottle of beer in his hand and was walking wobbly towards me I only sigh knowing that I can't go home in time. "Y/n" he called out to me "Good to see you Mr.Ludwig" I answered with a smile plastered on my face "Why don't *hic* you come inside *hic* and grab a drink?" he asked me but before I could answer he grab my arm immediately and sat me on a chair. The smell of drunk people circled around the place and it was also loud.

I grab the drink that was placed in front of me thinking if I should drink it or not "You better *hic* drink that Y/n" The old man says while chuckling before leaving 'Well it's only one bottle" I said before drinking it.

"Hello, Miss?" I looked to where the sound was coming from and saw the hooded man from earlier, I put the bottle down and replied "Y/n L/n" he soon took the seat beside me and sat there.

(3rd Person POV)

After that he did not speak anymore and just continued looking at the girl, the girl also didn't know what to say and just kept drinking the beer 'well this is awkward' she thought to herself taking another drink. "So umm, why were you looking at me earlier?" The girl mentally curse at herself for saying that "Oh, were you uncomfortable Miss Y/n?" he asked and stopped looking at you "No I wasn't, I mean there must be a reason why right?" "Yes" The girl looked at him and asked, "What is it then?"

"I was amazed by how beautiful you were Miss Y/n"

"oh" she simply replied until she process the words that he said in her mind "OH" she looked away blushing like crazy "Just call me Y/n"

And that's how they met.......

Being with the Duke was really tiring, Especially when he made you the Duchess, You always attend Balls, Meetings, Events, and more Balls you just want to take a break, But it was ok since you always have Jubellian by your side, and always cheering you up. What can you do she is just so adorable that you want to smoosh her chubby cheeks!
