As the weeks went by Gyp grew rapidly and so did our bond. Her ears slowly started to stand upright, sometimes it would only be one ear managing to stand all the way up, while the other flopped in a sad manner, it was awfully adorable. Her tanned legs grew longer and her body leaner, she was starting to look more and more like a Kelpie. But I often wondered what she was crossed with.

Gyp's eye and face had also healed up perfectly, not even leaving a mark. The only indication that there ever was an injury was her eye weeping occasionally, other than that you were unable to tell.

Gyp and I spent every waking hour together when I wasn't at school, I had a fantasy of becoming a 'big time dog trainer' so a lot of time was spent training with Gyp. Gyp was an incredibly smart dog, and I had a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that she was deemed untrainable, unruly even. The pup was ready to learn and wanted more than anything to please me, I guess she just needed someone who was ready to put the time and effort into her. Someone willing to give patience, someone she could trust and someone who understood her and her quirks.

Gyp would plod around the farm with me as I fed the chickens, the horses, and the other animals. She was quite literally my shadow, and she made my evening chores so much more enjoyable. After we had finished our jobs we would often head down to the dam for a good game of fetch, life was absolute bliss.
