Toby is a malicious and cocky person; he has given up on the idea of leading a typical life, and due to the freedom he gained from joining Zalgo, he had made the decision himself. Seeing as it was his choice, Toby seems to almost take pride in his work, or joy.

However, his seeming careless nature was more a coping mechanism- or a sign of him "giving up". He has come to terms what will happen if he tries to migrate into a society, which is why he has chosen to stay.

He isn't completely heartless, and would most likely gain atleast a friendship with an enemy, if they interacted multiple times, and didn't just try to kill each other.
