You were currently sitting outside on the steps of your high school, Riverdale High. The school on the Southside had been shut down for nearly two years, so they made all students transfer to Riverdale, the situation made you want to drop out. You hated nothing more than rich snobby kids, and unfortunately you were currently in the centre of snob city.
It was early so not a lot of teenagers were around, although you already spotted a small group of Serpents occupying the carpark with their cars and motorbikes. You sighed as you pushed your hair back whilst the bright sun shined down on you, with it being early and all the sun was certainly bright.
Loud laughter made your eyes dart back to where the Serpents were, laughing and smoking with one another. Your eyes zoned in on the person you hated the most, Alice Smith. She stood there with a cigarette lit in her fingers as she joked with her friends, her blonde hair moved as she threw her head back and let out a laugh with a leather serpent jacket adorning her back. Just looking at her you could feel the anger rolling off you, you really didn't like her at all. Alice has had a problem with you for as long as you could remember, always saying something snarky or mumbling under her breath to her friends as you walked past her. You've never known what her deal was, but it was a good enough reason for you to not like her.
You abruptly stood up and swung your bad over your shoulder, as you did so you heard another motorbike ride into the school gates but this one sent shivers down your spine. You knew who sat on the bike without even glancing at him, his soft lips have been on repeat since you kissed them. You still couldn't believe you kissed FP Jones, the 'baddest boy' in Riverdale. Sure everyone label him as the 'bad boy' but you knew under the front he puts up that FP was a softy, he showed you that side the night he help you with his father when he could've easily driven right past you but he didn't.
You didn't even look back at him as you climbed the rest of the step and made your way inside the big building. Looking from left to right you found that people were starting to roll in, the hallways slowly getting crowded. You put your head down and went to your locker to grab your books for English but was stopped as you bumped into someone, who happened to be Hermione Gomez. She was a very pretty girl and was always kind to you, her and your friend Fred have been recently seeing each other and taking things slow, not wanting to rush into things.
"Oh, hey Scar," she greeted. Your full name was Scarlett, but everyone knew you as Scar.
"Hey Hermione," you smiled.
"How have you been?" She asked genuinely interested.
"Oh, I'm good thanks Hermione. How have you been?" You replied. She shrugged.
"Eh could be better," she smiled sadly. You frowned at her.
"What's wrong, did something happen between you and Fred?" You questioned. Hermione nodded slowly.
"Yeah, we got into a pretty heated argument," she answered you. You had a sad look on your face as she told you.
"Oh H, I'm so sorry," you mumbled and pulled her into a tight hug that she recuperated. You felt her shrug her shoulder against you.
"It happens," she muttered. Pulling away from her, you saw how tired and sad she looked.
"You two will be okay. I have faith, now if you'll excuse me, I have to find my dumbass best friend," you said. She laughed lightly at you name calling Fred.
"Okay, find me at lunch!" She called out as she walked away from you.
"Will do," you hollered back.
You didn't waste any time and sped off to grab your books quickly so you could go find Fred and squeeze the information out of him, he's your best friend he has to tell you.
"I'm not telling you," Fred mused. You rolled your eyes at him for the fiftieth time today, he wasn't fessing up about what their argument was about, and it was driving you insane.
"Come on Fred, I'm your best friend. I tell you everything," you pouted. It was his turn to roll his eyes now.
"No, you don't, I know there are secrets you keep from me. So, I get to keep some of mine as well," he told you with a pointed gaze. You sighed softy, knowing he was right. You do keep things from him, but all for good reason.
"Fine, I give up," you mumbled. You slouched against the tree you were currently leaning against, you and Fred had a free period, so the two of you decided to sit outside for a change. You picked up your notebook and started jotting down some notes from your physics book, as you were studying you didn't see the Serpent that slithered his way over to you and your best friend.
"Hey Fred," FP smooth voiced greeted. Your head shot up like lightning, you arched your right brow in question as to why he was talking to you and your best friend right now.
"Oh, hey FP, how are ya?" Fred greeted back as the two did a bro handshake which made you even more confused. Since when were FP and Fred all friendly you wondered.
"Not much," replied FP. His dark eyes landed on you and his smirk grew as he looked you up and down. You blushed.
"Hey Scarlett," FP nodded to you. You nodded back as you felt your blush intensify.
"Hi FP," you shyly replied. His eyes never left yours, the eye contact made a million butterflies fly around in your tummy.
"Well, I better get going. Mrs. Vas asked me to help set up some stuff in the gym, so I'll see you guys later," Fred informed the both of you as he packed up his stuff and took off. You stared at Fred's back while FP stared at you.
"Staring is rude you know," you mumbled with a shy smile. FP laughed lightly and sat down next to you, his thigh touching yours which caused you to let a little gasp slip. He was so close to you right now, if he turned his head, you're sure you'd connect lips.
"Sorry, its just, your so pretty," FP said. His words caused you to blush like a madman, and he sent you a smile, a real smile. You sent a smile back to him.
"Thanks, your really pretty too," your replied with honesty in your voice. FP let out a hum.
"Thanks," he mumbled.
You continued to write down notes from your physics book and while you did so FP would crack some jokes to get you to smile. You really enjoyed his company, suddenly wanting him to be around you more.
"Can I take you out?" FP blurted after the two of you had just finished another laugh fit. As you stared at him you noticed he looked nervous, biting his lip and looking anywhere else but you. You let out a soft laugh and grabbed his hand to place it in your lap, your fingers looping together.
"I'd love to go out with you FP," you smiled. FP let out a breath of relief that made you let out a giggle.
"Thank god you said yes," he said relieved.
You shook your head with another laugh as the bell rang. You packed your things away while FP stood and waited for you, once everything was away you stood to your full height, only coming to FP neck. You craned your neck and looked up at the handsome boy, his usual smirk was painted on his face as he stared down at you. You smiled softly. Feeling brave you leaned up on your tippy toes and placed a lingering kiss on the corner of his mouth before pulling away with a little smirk of your own.
"I'm looking forward to that date, Mr. Jones," you sated.
With that your spun around and headed off to your next class, a goofy smile on your face as you thought about a certain serpent.
