"I've been in love with you since you gave me the umbrella..."
.
.
Marinette finally admitted it.
.
She looked up at the blond-haired model to see him with a disgusted face.
Her heart shattered the second she saw his face.
.
.
"Marinette, I'm sorry but I'm not prepared to be in a relationship." He felt bad but he genuinely did not like her.
"I-It's fine! I totally get it! No worries. But uhm I got to go!" She said with a grin, trying to not cry.
"Marinette, look-" He didn't want her to hate him, she was one of his first best friends.
"I get it! See you later, Adrien." She immediately ran off. The blue-haired girl transformed into her alter ego and went to the Eiffel Tower. She kinda just sat there, thinking.
.
A While Later...
.
"Of course, he didn't fucking like me. I'm such an idiot..." Marinette sighed to herself. She swung into an alley and detransformed.
"Marinette, I'm so sorry. I'm always here if you need to talk." The cute red kwami tried to comfort her.
"I'm fine, Tikki. I just wanna go home..." The sad girl walked home in silence.
.
"Can you believe that! I'd never thought Marinette would have feelings for me..." Adrien spouted.
"I mean it was pretty obvious. I think everyone knew but you!" Plagg said as he stuffed his face with Camembert.
"I feel like shit..she's my best friend.." Adrien plopped down on his bed.
"You're the one who turned her down." Plagg stared at him.
"Yeah! Because I didn't like her. I would've been a shitty friend if I accepted her feelings." He sighed.
"Just talk to her" Plagg continued doing his own thing.
"She probably hates me now!" Adrien frowned.
"But you know who doesn't she hate.." Plagg smirked.
"Chat Noir!" The blonde exclaimed.
He soon transformed and jumped out of his window, on his way to Marinette Dupain-Cheng's house.
Until he heard a scream and saw Mister Pigeon.
"Aw maybe another time, Miss Dupain-Cheng." He pounced towards the akumatized.
Ladybug arrived at the scene a little before him.
"What's a lady without her Kitty?" Chat jumped right next to Ladybug.
"Nice to see you too, Chat." She pet his head.
"Mister Pigeon? Again?" The Kitty sighed.
"Yup. Let's make this quick.."
.
.
"Pound it." They said, simultaneously.
"See you around, Kitty." Ladybug's earrings started to beep.
"Wait! Ladybug, please." He looked at her with a caring frown.
"Chat. We talked about this. I'm in...love with another boy." She sighed.
"And I'm in love with you. Does this boy even like you!" Chat yells out.
"No...But that doesn't matter. I still love him." She gave him a weak smile and swung off.
.
.
"Adrien, I've decided that dating Kagami would be best for your career. You two will have a photo shoot in the park today. You may return to your room." The cold-hearted father announced.
"But father-" The poor boy was cut off by the voice of his father dismissing him.
.
Not long after...
"Alya! He told me he doesn't want to be in a relationship and now he's fucking dating Kagami!" Marinette cried to her best friend.
"Maybe you should just talk to him. It might be a misunderstanding." Alya tried to comfort her.
"Absolutely not. I can't face him anymore. It's too embarrassing...and I don't think I can..stand seeing him with..her." Marinette admitted.
"It's getting late, I have to go. But this conversation is not over!" Alya shouted as she left her room.
"Tikki...why would Adrien lie to me."
"Marinette, you're ladybug! He doesn't know what he's missing out on." Tikki never understood the feeling of being heartbroken since she cannot fall in love, to begin with.
.
"I just want to be alone..." Tikki understood and left her to her thoughts.
Marinette was calmly watching over the city of Paris on her balcony.
When a certain black cat spots her and decides to come to greet her.
"Marinette, right?"
She's taken back at first, surprised to see a heroine on her balcony.
"Chat Noir?.."
"That's me! It's been a while. How have you been if I may ask?" He gave her a goofy grin.
"It's complicated right now. How's your amazing life as a superhero?"
"Being Chat Noir might be the best thing that has happened to me..but my life as a civilian is more complicated." The kitty sat on the railing.
"I can lend a listening ear if you'd like."
"That'd be nice. It's just this girl... I'm in love with her but she doesn't feel the same." He slightly frowned at his own words.
"I think I can relate." The girl chuckled a bit.
"This super amazing perfect guy just rejected me. It took me months to gain the courage to ask him out. He told me he didn't want a relationship which is fine but then he goes on to date another fucking girl." Chat was hurt hearing about how Marinette was feeling.
They both continued to rant to each other about everything.
Marinette even made him some cookies and they started talking more. It lasted almost all night.
.
"And that's how I almost got akumatized." Marinette yawned.
"What a bitch! If I were you, I would have asked her to get an x-ray to see if she actually broke anything." Chat Noir rolled his eyes as Marinette laughed.
"I know right! And no one took my side besides my really close friends." She grabbed another cookie.
"If Lila wants to fight, call me. I'll back you up" Chat put up his fist and started fake fighting with the wind.
"You'll be the first person to know." Marinette patted his head as she laughed.
"God, what time is it?" Chat took out his baton to see 2:51am.
"Oh shit. Tonight has been fun, my Princess. But I'm about to miss my catnap." He picked up Marinette's hand and kissed it.
"Catch you later!" He jumped off the balcony in a rather elegant way.
"See you around." Marinette just laughed.
"Wait...did he just call me Princess??" The girl said out loud as she got ready for bed.
