Gisele came out of the coffeehouse with slumped shoulders. She had once again lost her job as barista. She supposed she would have to go to the job center once again.
With a bit of luck, she entered her apartment without her landlord noticing her. Actually, calling the room an apartment was a bit of a stretch as it was just a room with a small sink and shared toilets outside.
As she entered, she ordered a pizza with the change she had left and after eating fell into a deep restless sleep.

The next day, Gisele went to the job center. She met Lizzie who was a very talkative person and who was also her only and best friend in the city.
"Good morning, sunshine. Sleep well?"
Gisele muttered something appropriate and proceeded to make herself a cup of coffee.
"Mon cœur, what's wrong? Why so cranky?"
Apart from being a chatterbox, Lizzie was also a morning person, which was the complete opposite of Gisele.
"I lost my job."
"Aww, I'm so sorry. But what happened? I thought you said--"
"I know what I said and turns out I was wrong"
Lizzie came towards her and gave her a hug with a comforting tap on the back which Gisele did not appreciate at all.
Gisele carefully disentangled herself from the hug and asked
"What's new?"
"OMG, I can't believe I forgot to tell you. Slate Hendrick of the Hendrick Hotels needs a babysitter and you, ma chère, are the perfect person for the job"
"I just need a job, Liz, I don't care what it is."
But as usual, Liz paid no heed to her words.
Gisele had lost her job because her boss had propositioned her and she refused. She even threatened to tell his wife and the wimp got her fired.
Same goes for the first job only that it was a lady who had propositioned her. Adding the fact that she was not into girls and that lady was married, she supposed her actions were justified. Right now, the only thing she wanted was another job so as to pay her bills and settle her rent.
