1) Quiche ( Ham and Cheese) 1/12/22So, this recipe comes from my favorite Amish cook book. I modified the ingredients to ham and cheese instead of sausage and Cheese, I also made it quicker with a store bought refrigerator pie dough, and my preferred spices. So, here's my version.
1 Pillsbury fridge pie dough
4 eggs
1 cup of cream
8 oz of shredded cheese
Carv board ham slices....ur preference can be a little or more?
Pepper to taste
Garlic to taste
Paprika to taste
Onion sprinkles to taste
Crushed red pepper to tastePretty easy:
Pre heat oven to 350
Put pie dough in pie pan
Mix eggs, cream in a separate bowl
Fill base of pie with most of cheese and Ham
Pour milk mixture evenly over.
Top with remaining cheese.
Get creative
Sprinkle whatever seasoning you like.
Sometimes I use Franke sauce
Mostly, I use just a pinch of black pepper,
Garlic, paprika, onion sprinkles, and crushed pepper.
Once prepared pop in the oven for .45 minutes.
Cool...eat hot or cold....breakfast lunch or dinner. These are easy and very adaptable.
With each base being 4 eggs, 8 ounces of cheese, 8 ounces of cream.
Below are other ideas to try. And side note if you don't like the idea of cream....
You can use milk mixed with 1 tbs of vinegar or lemon juice as a substitute.
Other combos include Bob Evans zesty sausage/ mushrooms
Onion/ bacon
Asperagus/ onion
Mixed veggies/ onions
sour kraut / kelbasy
Chicken /mushrooms/veggies
Really the ideas are endless.
The seasonings are endless.
You can use healthier cheese substitutes.
It all works.
I don't make this often .When I do I always wonder why I waited so long to make it again.
It's a big hit in our house.
Honestly, the ingredients are usually already here.
