Part 182

Forgive me

for all the times

I looked into your beautiful eyes,

saw all the pain

and pretended it wasn't there.

It still is,

isn't it?

You suffer silently.

You cover the hurt in your face

like one pulls down their sleeves

to cover unstitched wounds.

I can see it,

though.

You let me catch a glimpse

of it.

I want to hold you,

your hand,

tell you that the stars will fall

out of the sky

before I let anyone hurt you.

But I don't.

My lips stay sealed.

My heart beats in my chest

for you,

and I want to rip it out.

Perhaps then

I could tell you

how much I love you.

what you don't know can hurt me, but never you.
