Chapter 4- Reunited with the past

[Time skip: Next morning, Kim Corporations]

"What's the status with that writer... what was his name again" Mr. Vice Chairman spoke trying to remember the name 

"White Tiger?" I completed the sentence making him nod

"Yea that. But why name himself 'white tiger'?" He questioned

Author- I myself don't know :D

"Aish, forget it. Have you emailed him or anything yet?" He asked

"Yes, I sent an email to his email id also to the publishing company which publishes his book but none of them have replied or anything" I replied

"Let's wait then" He replied and was about to walk away when I asked

"Mr. Vice Chairman?"

"Yes?"

"What if... I mean... what if he doesn't reply to any of these emails? What should we do then?" I questioned sounding worried

"Secretary Y/n"

"Yes, Mr. Vice Chairman"

"Consider this as a test for ourselves. Everything depend on how we will take care of this if by any chances we fail. The way we take care of such things, highlights what we are capable of doing. When times comes, and we'll know what to do, that'll make us shine the most. So, let's wait for what happens next and then go accordingly, hmm?" He spoke making me nod

He may be cold or even rude sometimes, but his words can easily make someone feel at ease. Smiling to myself, I went back to work. Mr. Vice Chairman went back to his cabin to continue his work just when I received an email

Checking the sender, I felt as if I received all the happiness in the entire universe

I am pleased to accept the invitation. Honestly, I could consider this a way to interact and meet a few of my fans and the idea of a book reading really interested me. I'll be coming to Seoul tomorrow, so let's have a small meeting before the event. Let's meet at 'Blue Green coffee shop' tomorrow at 4pm and discuss the details about the event. 

Looking forwards to our meeting. Once again, thank you for inviting me

A smile crept on my face as I squealed in happiness. Not wasting a time, I rushed to Mr. Vice Chairman's cabin. 

Knocking on the door, I entered once I heard a faint 'come in'

"Secretary Y/n-" before he could complete his sentence, I jumped onto him engulfing him in a tight back causing him to stumble backwards 

"Ouch- Y/n... I understand you are desperate but ahem... we are still at work" He spoke fake coughing

"What? I hugged you because the writer I told you about, accepted our invitation and he's going to have a meeting with us tomorrow!!" I replied

"Ah really? That's great"

"I know right but... what were you thinking earlier?" I questioned looking at with sharp eyes making him gulp 

"I-... ahem.... HAHA the sky looks great today, is it dressed in Gucci or Prada?" He said trying to change the topic which was a complete nonsense

"What?!"

"What?"

"I mean, how do you expect a sky to dress up that too in Gucci or Prada?! Did you hit your head somewhere early in the morning or what?!" I questioned in disbelief 

"Whatever, when is the meeting tomorrow?" He asked

"It's at 4pm but I'm afraid you won't be going there with me" I replied

"What- what are you talking about?" 

"You have an important zoom call with your brothers and a few shareholders. Don't you dare ask me to cancel it or you'll be sleeping on to couch" I warned making him nod like a kid 

"Great then, I'll leave them" I said leaving the cabin

Taehyung's POV:

What do I do? Ah, I grabbed my hair in frustration as I sat on my chair. I mean it's not like that I don't trust her but how can I let her met someone she has never met before?! What if he kidnaps her or sells her?! What if he robs her?! What if.... Aish! Taehyung! You are thinking too much. Y/n is stronger than you think. If he tries to do something, I'm sure Y/n will kick him in the... Ouch! Thinking about it makes me feel the pain

Shaking my head, I was brought back to reality with a phone call. Checking the caller ID, it was from Namjoon Hyung

"Hello? Yes, Hyung"

"Taehyung, regarding the number you gave me...."

"Yes, what about it?"

"It was registered on someone's else's name. Apparently, he is using someone else's number to hide his identity" He replied as I groaned in frustration. 

"But..." Hyung tried to say something but hesitated

"But what?"

"Do you wanna know on whose name the number was registered?" He spoke making me straighten my back

"Who?"

"Park Jeong-Hoon, Y/n's deceased father"

"WHAT?!" I yelled standing up from my chair

"Yes, I checked it up and he was Y/n's deceased father. Apparently, he died when both Y/n was in high-school and Jimin graduated, more like 7-8 years back" He replied. Massaging my temples, I said,

"So that person has been using Y/n's dad phone all along? Then maybe he has tried to contact someone who is in this plan with him from the same phone right?"

"That may be possible, but it'll take some time to find out since we don't have the cellphone or the sim. We just have the number" He replied

"And what about the location?"

"Well, you were correct. It was last active in Busan but as far as I know, he won't stay in one place. He has probably moved somewhere already" He replied making me nod

"But Hyung, do you have any idea how Y/n's dad died?" 

"No. I don't"

"Okay. Thank you and call me if you find anything" I said disconnecting the call

Right now, only one person could clear my doubts and that's Y/n

[Time skip: Our house]

"Y/n! Where are you?!" I heard Mr. Vice Chairman yell as soon as he entered 

"I'm here, in the living room" I yelled back as he rushed and took a seat next to me. His face said as if he wanted to ask something

"Y/n, I'll tell you everything later but can you just answer one of my questions?" He asked making me nod

"I think you'll feel uncomfortable but.... could you tell me how your dad died?" He asked.

There was a moment of silence, I looked everywhere but him. 

"I'm sorry, I think I made you uncomfortable... I should probably just go-" I cut him by saying

"He was shot..."
