Chapter 2: Empty Shell

Doctor: "Tell me, do you remember what happened last night when you came here?"

Izuku thought for a moment. "No sir."

Doctor: "What is the last thing you do remember?"

Izuku: "Smashing a mirror while something grabbed my arm through it, then pain."

The Docter wrote something down on his Notebook before looking back up at him. "Your mother stated that you are quirkless, yet you seem to have a mutation one by the looks of it. A mysterious one at that because when we connected you to the Heart monitor, it emitted a long high pitched noise so we thought that we were late. But after the initial shock we heard you breathing heavily. Tell me, how do you feel right now?"

At this Question, Izuku pondered. How did he feel right now? He wasn't scared or terrified, no feeling of fear or any sort of that. There wasn't happynes either, Neither where there Hate, sadnes, anger or any other emotion. He just felt Empty, hollow, like there was nothing inside him.

Izuku: "I honestly don't know."

The Doctor looked at him before writong something down. "This will be all for now, we already informed your school that you won't be coming, so rest now." He stood up and left the room.

Meanwhile in school.

The class setteled down, no one questioning the disappearance of their green haired classmate. All but one angry blonde, but he honestly couldb't care less. They quiet down when their teacher came in.

Teacher: "Good morning class. First things first, you might have noticed that Izuku Midoria isn't here right now. That is because he needed to be taken to the hospital so he will be absend for a couple of days."

Bakugo just scoffed at that information. Yeah right, as if anyone cared what hqppened to that loser. Worthless Deku probably just fell the Wrong way. Yet despite that, he couldn't help but feel that something is wrong.

Back in the Hospital:

Inko has long woken up. The first thing she did was Embreace her baby in a tight hug, telling that she was so scared for him and that she didn't know what to do if he.... she didn't want to think of that.

Izuku on the other hand, while returning the embrace, didn't show any kind of expression. He just sat there, letting his Mother cry all over him, starring at her with eyes that don't have any focus.

After a few moments, she let him go, tears still running down her face while she looks at Izukus expressipnless one. The Worry seemed to slowly creep back to her when her soon doesn't show any sign of Emotion.

Inko: "Izuku, please t-tell me how you feel." Her voice was quiet and almost trembeling.

Izuku was about to answer when the Same Doctor from before walked in again.

Docktor: "Good, you are awake Mrs.Midoria."

Inko immediatly bombarded him with question for what happened to her son, if they could help and what the cause of this was.

Doctor: "Please calm down Miss. We don't exactly know what happened to your son, but the most likely theroie is that it is a Quirk that didn't properly manifest until now for unkown reasons."

Inko: "But how? We where told he wouldn't get one because of his-" The Doctor cut her of by placing a hand on her shoulder.

Doctor: "I'm very aware of that, I went over his Files while you were asleep. The Extra joint in his toe wasn't a guarantee for him not geting one however. There have been a handfull of people diagnosed quirkless due to the Extra toe joint, but they got one much later. Their quirks weren't the most 'extravagant' and very rare, but they Exist."

He took a look at his notes. "These reports have never had a sudden mution happen over night however, so we might be traversing through uncharted territory." He looked at inko again. "We would need to keep him here for a few days, maybe even a week as to make sure if there might be any damage done to him at the sudden mutation."

The only responds was a nod from Inko, who was about to cry once more.

The Week went by and where filled with Doctors and Psychiatrists Testing what his newly discovored could do and affected him in phisical and psychological terms.

The Physical test got out that the Mutations were mostly a skin mutation that made his skin be that deep black color. What is strange though is that his head has gone through a diffirent mutation that sprouted horns from his head that just barely showed through his mess of green hair and that the skin there has become a pale white.

Another thing they found that there where some weird skeletal wing like apendages that where closely tugged in and pressed against his back where they seem unnoticable.

Blood test have shown that his blood now was black and thick like Oil and it didn't seem to be made up of cells. Rather, it looks like his blood is made up from nothing, but this is believed to be a temporary result because his blood seemd to be absorbing the Light shown onto it.

They also discovored that Izuku lost almost all of his weight, aproximitly 75% of it. Ot could possibly be because his organs could have dissapeared but that simply could not have been possible because Izuku is still able to eat and breath, though the latter is not really seen doing.

The tests on what his quirk could do also brought some interesting results. His jump height for one now has increased drasticly from quirkless boys his age, able to jump over at least thrice his height. He also doesn't appear to get tired at all so his stamina must have increased drasticly.

Another very interesting to have appeared is that he is able turn his fingers into long sharp claws. When questioned, Izuku answered that he doesn't know how he exactly does it, just that he knows how to do it. The Claws seem to be able to cut through most softer materials with relative ease and that he can use them to scale up walls, though he would need to be fast because he would be constantly sliding down despite his light weight.

Lastly he is able to conjure a white mask over his head. Nobody knows why or how he is able to do it, but that isn't their topmost Priority. Said mask is containing hos entire head, with it also having the same horns as Izuku. The mask doesn't have a mouth on it, only two big Holes for his eyes. For some reason though, his eyes are not able to be seen while the mask is active. They are just black holes that don't let any light through.

Lastly where the probably most important tests, those for his Psychology. There where a handfull of skilled psychiatrists, one of them even with a quirk for the job. But thay all alluded to the same result. He seems to have lost the abillity the feel any emotion.

Questioning him on how he feels to certain pictures, Izuku would almost always say "I don't know". If asked to describe what he is feeling his answer was either again "I don't know how" or "I can't describe it." But later on after leaving him time to think, he answered that he feeled "Empty, Hollow, Nothing."

His Mother didn't take the news lightly of his Very alive and expressive Son having lost all Emotions. Aside from that though, he seems fine. Fine enough to finaly be let go home.

Inko: "Izuku dear, i'll be Making some Katsudon alright?"

Izuku: "Alright, thanks." His voice wasn't the same way as before. Now it was Just as Emotionless as him and Monotone.

Inko: "You can go into your room in the meantime. The where probably a lot of new News of Criminals geting arrested by the Heros, maybe eben a New one."

Izuku: "Yeah, i'll go do that."

Inko went into the Kitchen while Izuku went for his room. In there, while preparing food, began tearing up again. She had aloth of mixed feelings coliding with each other.

On one hand, Izulu finaly has a Quirk, the Very thing he always wished to have ever since he was little. On the other hand though, what did it cost for him to gain it? He wasn't able to feel Emotions anymore.

She was happy for him to have his wish be granted, but she would have honestly prefered if everything stayed the way they where.
