Max's pov
It was the end of the day and I was putting my books in my locker exhausted from school I grabbed my bag and started to head out the door
As I started walking I heard footsteps behind me hoping it wasn't who I thought but when I turned around it was exactly who I thought...Alex
He was now walking next to me
"Hey dork" he said with his signature smirk on his face
"Hey loser" I replied
"bitch"he replied
"Dickhead" I said
"Fuckwite" he replied
"Asswipe" I replied
He just chuckled and I tried to hide my smile while looking down at the ground
"So holidays start tommorow princess" he said
"Mhm"I replied annoyed at the name he knows I hate
"Did you like how I painted your jumper for you"he said looking at me with a smug smile
"Fuck you"I said remembering about it and covering my cuts with my hand so he didn't see but he looked down at my waist as I coverd it as he stopped and grabbed my other arm pulling me back
"Max?" He asked concerned
"What?" I replied
He moves my arm away from my waist revealing the cuts
"What's that from?" He asked in a stern tone not joking around anymore
"Oh nothing" I said turning and tried to walk off again but he grabbed my arm again
"Tell me" he looked in my eyes I've never seen him show this much emotion
"Why so you can pick on me and go tell the whole school" I yelled slightly tearing up
"No max!"he yelled
"Why would you care anyway" I yelled then ran off as he stood and watched me go
I got home and went straight to my room and grabbed another jumper to chuck on it went down stairs and saw my mum in the kitchen scrolling through Facebook
"Hey mom"I said and smiled at her
"Oh hey sweets I didn't know you were home anyway I need you to get dressed into something nice" she said to me I just have a confused look
"Why?" I asked clearly confused
"We are going to the Bennett's for dinner now get ready" she said
"What no, why" I whined
"Just get ready and when we get there I want you and Alex to try and not to rip each other head off" she said as I headed up stairs to get ready
Alex's pov
I was laying on my bed scrolling through TikTok just thinking about her and what was going on
"Alex" my mom yelled from down stairs
" yeah?" I replied to her
"Get dresses into something nice the thorns are coming over" she yelled to me
I immediately ran down stairs
"WHAT!" I yelled
" yes I want you and max to try and not rip each other heads off please"she said
While cooking dinner for everyone
I groaned and went up stairs
"No promises"I mumbled
Max's mum was lovely she was like my second mother and I loved her like my own mother aswell but max on the other hand was like and annoying sister to me we never stoped arguing but today when I saw those cuts I had to ask I couldn't help it.
Max's pov
I put some nice jeans on and a cute t-shirt I went down stairs and mom glared at me
"You could've tried a little harder" she said
"Come on it just the Bennett's their my second family"
She rolled her eyes I just groaned and put my shoes on
She was hurrying me out the door
We were now on our way to their house
It was silent until...
"Hey honey"mum said looking at me through the mirror then back to the road I hummed in response
"I'm going on a business trip for a month and you'll have to stay with the Bennett's for the time being I leave tommorow" she said occasionally looking at me
"WHAT CANT I STAY SOMEWHERE ElSE" I yelled/complained
She just shook her head I groaned and stayed silent his mother was lovely amazing I could always talk to her and his dad never really talked to me but he still liked me it was just Alex
We finally arrived and got out of the car I groaned as my mother knocked on the door it was opens seconds later then we were greeted with the nice bright warm smile of Elly Alex's mum
She gave my mum a big hug as they asked how they've been the she came to me and embraced me in a big warm hug I hugged back and she kissed my cheek
"Hello max" she said excited
"Hey Elly" I replied with a big smile then Alex came to the door but I avoided eye contact with him at all cost I knew he was staring at me it felt like it was burning through me
But I ignored him
"Now max,Alex no ripping eachithers heads off and got up to Alex's room while we finish cooking dinner"his mum said he just groaned and I rolled my eyes at him as he led me to his room
As we entered I sat on his bed in silence while he sat next to me and did the same
it was awkward
But I broke the silence
"I uh I-Im sorry"I say softly looking at him while fiddling with my hands
"For what"he says with no emotion looking at me
"For over reacting before"I said nervously hoping he won't insult me right now
"No.its fine I shouldn't have just put you on the spot" he said looking away
I widened my eyes suprised an insult didn't come out his mouth
"Wait what" I said in surprise
He looked at me confused
"What?" He ask
"Did you just be nice to me"I ask smiling to myself and laughing
"Well picking on someone for that sort of stuff is way to far even for me" he said as he chuckled a little
"Yeah but i thought you would still do it cause it's me" I said looking at the ground
He just chuckled
"Come on princess" he said while walking down stairs me following behind
"Come eat dinner guys"my mum said to everyone
As his dad was at the table waiting we took a seat across from each other he smirked at me as i looked up at him he winked at me
I poked my tounge out at him as he chuckled

It was after dinner and we were heading home I went straight to my room when we got back and just scrolled on my phone for a bit looking at Instagram which was full of girls that were really pretty and had the perfect body
I started Crying feeling like I wasn't got enough I ran to the bathroom and locked the door I found a razor blade and took it out of the packet but didn't think twice before putting in in my mouth I moved I around inside my mouth and spat it on the sink along with blood pouring out after
I spat most it out and broke down crying on the floor I then grabbed moth wash out of the bathroom cabinet and took a mouth fool it burned like putting salt on a wound but I deserved it I quickly cleaned up and left no everdense that I did anything and wiped my tears like I was completely fine I walked out with a burning mouth and acted like nothing was wrong the blood was still going but not as bad and I just swallowed It and went to sleep dreading tommorow
