"Oh, oh like a crime, do it if we tried," George sang, as the song ended.
Then, as he wiped down the next dish in the sink, with his soon-to-be-torn sponge, "Somebody That I Used To Know" came on to his speaker. He began humming along, as the sink started filling with bubbles, and unusually, not draining. He ignored it and picked up another dish. "Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over- Shit!" George stopped singing, and the water started turning red. He took his hand out of the soapy pink-ish water, revealing a crimson red line going down his hand. He had cut his hand wide open with one of the knives at the bottom of the sink.
"Ouch- fucker!" He swore under his breath, as he ran cold water over it. George walked over to the medicine cabinet and opened it with his other hand. "Tylenol, Cough meds, Ibuprofen, vitamins, wraps." He said grabbing his last option. He unwrapped part of the roll, then wrapped his hand. He hissed at the pain, as he continued wrapping. Then, as he finished wrapping up his cut, the doorbell rang twice. "Coming!" He yelled as he sighed angrily. George swore under his breath as he pressed down on the wraps. Then, walking down the hall to his front door. He unlocked it and opened the door to see a familiar face. "Nope," George said, trying to shut the door, but the man stuck his foot in the crack of the door.
"C'mon George, please, you have to let me talk to you-,"
"No!" George said, ignoring his remark, trying to push the door shut.
"Sapnap, I told you to leave me alone. I'm not talking to you about anything."
"Please! You know he loves you!" Sapnap said, using his hands to push back on the door.
"Clearly not! He wouldn't have done what he did if he really cared, Sapnap! Now stop and leave!" George gave one last harsh push, making Sapnap yelp in pain, sliding his foot out of the crack.
The door went shut with a loud boom. "I'm tired of you trying to help Sapnap, when you know there's nothing you can do," George said as loud as he could, which wasn't very loud due to his heavy breathing.
"I saw that wrap on your hand. You better not be doing it again." Sapnap said, standing close to the door so George could hear him.
"I just was washing the dishes and accidentally sliced my hand open, okay?" George said, starting to get mad at Sap bringing up old situations.
"Are you done?" George said, praying he would just go away.
"I wish you would just fucking listen," Sapnap said, as his footsteps trailed of George's porch and down his steps.
George heard Sap's truck engine start, the pebbles laid down in the driveway being crushed as the truck's loud noises faded. He closed his eyes and sighed. "They don't get it." He said, smiling with hot tears running down his face.
"He's just another stranger."
