" Class is dismissed. Make sure you study for the test next week and hand me your research papers by the end of this week, " your professor declared before letting the class go. You took a moment to catch up with your friends, but your mind was so focused on what you had researched on last night.

' Are you okay, (y/n)? What's on your mind? You haven't talked much today, ' your friend asked, resting a hand on your shoulder. Snapping out of your thoughts, you looked towards those kind eyes for a moment, your own eyes softening once you saw how worried she was for you. Have you really not talked much today? You could have sworn you did.

Perhaps you had a lot on your mind lately.

Your hand reached out to hold hers, rubbing the back of it gently. This only brought a worried smile on her face before you decided to respond. " I'm doing alright, bestie. Thank you for checking in on me. " Her brows only furrowed at that.

' (Y/n), you didn't answer my question. What's on your mind? '

It wasn't like you were trying to avoid her question. It was more . . a way for you to avoid explaining everything that you learned about last night. It was going to take a long time, and you needed to get back home so you could c—

' (Y/n). '

That was certainly too stern for you to ignore now. You hesitated before letting out a deep sigh.

" I know you're worried, but I just have a lot on my mind right now. Can I tell you later when I'm free tonight? " you reasoned with her. You prayed silently that she could just leave you alone for the day. It made you feel bad for doing this to her, but something in that abandoned building seemed to be calling out to you, as if you were destined to be a night guard there. Perhaps it was your destiny to explore the building and finally solve the mystery of Freddy's Fazbear Pizza.

' Or maybe you're just crazy and have no sense of control when it comes to knowing everything, ' a voice in your head retorted back to you.
Yeah. That was probably it.

Though she looked quite worried, she hesitated in her reply. ' Fine . . Just promise me that you will call, yeah? ' You nodded with a faint smile.

" Yup. Will do. "

And with that, you raced back home, finally focusing on your new task at hand : getting that job interview.

-

" . . Yes! Thank you! . . It's okay if it's last minute. I'll come to the interview tonight! " you exclaimed before finally saying your formal goodbyes and hanging up the phone. This was it. You did it. You had to admit : going to such lengths to unearth the horrors of the past was a crazy idea, even for you, but unsolved mysteries were always a weakness of yours. Those mysteries gave you something to do, a way to relieve your boredom. After all, life isn't worth living if you don't take a few risks here and there. Live a little, as you were often told by your friends.

The interview was only a few hours away, so you needed something to do to calm your nerves for the time being. Maybe your apartment could use another round of cleaning? Or maybe you could play on your switch? Thoughts ran rapidly through your head until you decided to just take a short nap. Laying down on the couch, you closed your eyes and drifted off to sleep.

When your eyes snapped open, you could hear the sound of children laughing. Looking around, you noted that the party hats and balloons suggested it was some kind of birthday party. The thought of children being happy brought a smile on your face. You decided to walk around, interacting with the kids as they showed you their masks of the animatronic characters. This all seemed so interesting when you suddenly saw a group of five kids follow a man dressed in purple away from the rest of the children. Curious, you followed the group from a distance, an uneasy feeling bubbling deep inside you. Something was wrong.
