AT THE SALVATORE BORDER HOUSE IN ALEAH GILBERTS POV "Remind me again why I'm the one you asked to help read these things." I urged of Damon as I held up yet another dust journal of Jonathan Gilbert, my nose crinkling up in disgust at the dust that layered the faded pages.
Staying at the Salvatore Boarding House with my twin to get away from John was one thing, but for Damon to wake me up before six was something that might have urged me to stake him if it hadn't been for the fact that I had gotten more than enough sleep the night before.
Maybe I was complaining a tad too much, but let's just face the facts. If you're going to scan journals, use my twin. But Damon paid me and my moaning no real heed, barely glancing up from the journal in his hands at all. "Less talking, more searching for ways to off Klaus."
"Off Klaus.." I echoed with the roll of my eyes, discarding the journal in my own hands with a huff. "We've been through every single page of these books and we've found nothing. The only person who can-". "No." Damon cut me off, his eyes still trained on the journal in his hands.
I frowned at him. "But-". "No." He said even more firmly and this time his ocean blue eyes flicked up from the journal to give me a stern look.
"We're not letting Elijah roam freely after all his threats."
"You tried to kill him." I pointed out with the slight turn of my head. "What did you think he was going to do? Laugh it off?"
"Details, details." He waved me off, returning his sole focus to the journal as he went. Damon still wasn't willing to disclose the location of Elijah to me or Elena. Me because he believed I couldn't be trusted when it came to the Original vampire and Elena because he claimed she would crack under the pressure and spill her heart and soul to me. Who was I kidding? There was no claiming. That was Elena through and through.
