Stardom turned around and hugged his friend tightly. "You're the best friend I've ever had."
"I know," December blushed.
The two dragons stopped, and Stardom began to look around his friend's room. The walls were wooden and made of glistening stones. December had bookshelves and a desk with more books on it. No flutes were in sight or strange cubes. Stardom smiled and eyed his friend's comfy bed. The icewing had blue sheets and white pillows over their mattress.
"You love books," Stardom commented on the icewing's room.
"Obviously," he responded and fell on his bed. "Now come play with me!"
"That sounded awful mature of you," Stardom eyed him seductively.
"That's not what I meant! Now come here!" the icewing grabbed his friend.
"So what do you want to do?" Stardom asked as he laid on December.
"I have an idea! Let's talk about our favorite Dragonets of Destiny!" December jumped up and pushed Stardom off.
"I liked Starflight before he became blind," the nightwing dragonet complained.
"Stupid Morrowseer! I really like Starflight!" December responded. "I can relate to him."
"I have a great question!" Stardom exclaimed and leaped up and down. "Which dragonet do you relate to most?"
"I don't know. How about Glory?" the icewing responded. "I feel like I can relate to being funny and independent and having tough guardians..."
"I feel like I can relate to Starflight most," Stardom said and thought about his answer. "I'm smart and sort of have an anxiety problem. I'm also a nightwing!"
The nightwing dragonet stopped and comforted his friend. "Is everything okay?"
They listened to the distant sound of arguing as December responded. "They never stop fighting. Nothing I do can make them happy. I wish I could help them."
Stardom snuggled his friend as he spoke. "It's not your job to stop them. It's your job to make sure you never end up like them. Be with the dragon who makes you happy because once you choose one, you may never be able to choose again."
"You make me happy. Why are you so nice? I've never met someone like you," December's face tinted blue.
"Why are you so nice? I've never met someone like you either," Stardom copied him.
"I'm not sure," December answered honestly.
"I'm not sure either," Stardom copied him again. "I have a question."
"What is it?" the icewing asked.
"Why did you icewings actually move here? I've always wondered since you mentioned capitalism when we met," the nightwing dragonet pondered as he questioned.
"Maybe it was destiny," the icewing began to vibrate with excitement. "We weren't very rich. That's why we moved. We needed food because my mom couldn't work. She isn't lazy like my dad says. Something just happened to her, one day, and now she can't walk very well."
Stardom froze and couldn't process his friend's words. He was wrong to even think that December's mother was lazy. He had forgotten the number one rule, never judge a book by its cover. Chill wasn't lazy, she was hurt. He neglected his friend's gaze.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know that," Stardom spoke and looked down.
"Don't be sad! It's hard to notice!" December snuggled his friend. "A real hero would admit his mistakes, and you just did. You're a hero!"
