"Hello, Moonlight, can you get me some McWings? It's over on the counter," the plump icewing turned over slowly.
"Ok, mom," December responded and got the basket in the kitchen that his mother carefully rested her eyes upon.
"Here you go," the lanky icewing handed his mother the basket.
"Hello, I'm December's friend," Stardom introduced himself to the hungry icewing who dug her whole claw into the basket.
"What? Those words haven't been put together in a long time," the shocked icewing stopped biting into her chicken wing.
She resumed eating and winked. "Hi, how are ya? My name's Chill, and Chill out with those statements, son."
"My name's Stardom," the nightwing dragonet told his friend's mother.
"I think you're the first nightwing I've met since we moved over here. Stardom's a unique name. Kind of sick of all the reoccurring icewing names in our kingdom. Like, you know how many Shivers we've had and Frostbites and Winters? Proud that my son was gifted such a unique name. Not many icewing's are named after months," Chill babbled and spoke with her mouth full.
"Well, we're are going to go play, so see you later!" December grabbed Stardom's claw and dragged him away.
They continued to walk until an imposing icewing stopped them. "Why are you dragging a nightwing into my home?"
"He's my friend, Stardom," December answered and pointed. "This is my father, Bitter."
"Hello, Bitter," Stardom greeted his friend's father.
"Hello, Stardom. How stupid are you?" Bitter asked quite seriously.
"He's a genius and not very creative. He likes science and math. He's a great fighter!" December answered for his friend and impatiently tugged at his arm.
"Interesting, why does your mother have McWings? What did we talk about?" Bitter eyed his son as Stardom looked at December strangely. "Stop giving her that stupid fat food! She doesn't need anymore!"
"I heard that, honey! I'm an adult! I'm allowed to eat what I want when I want!?" Chill bellowed from the couch.
"I'm coming over there!" the angry father ignored the two dragons in front of him and almost crushed them as he charged over to the couch.
"Let's go," December whispered and took his friend up the stairs.
As they walked, Stardom asked his friend a question. "Why did you say that to your father?"
"He doesn't want me to be influenced by stupid dragons. He doesn't want me to end up like my mom. He doesn't want me to have any creative ideas and be inspired by lighthearted heroes," December blurted as he walked. "That's why it's so hard for me to make friends, and I don't want to lose you."
Stardom blushed, and his heart screamed relatable character. "I can actually relate to that. My dad hates common dragons."
"You never talk about him," the icewing stated as they reached the top of the staircase. "Maybe you should. I want to help you."
"You sound like my teacher, Enlightenment," Stardom let December guide him to their destination.
The icewing opened the door for him and spoke. "I guess that means I'm wise?"
"No, you're better than wise. You are kind," Stardom responded and went inside.
December froze and felt warm and fuzzy inside, and then he grabbed Stardom by the tail. "I really feel like hugging you right now, but I'm not sure if it's okay. This just feels like the right moment, you know?"
