We headed home I'm pretty sure I and Katie never let go of each other's hand although many thoughts raced through our minds

We barely spoke as we walked through the night and made it back to castle rock a little past 5:00 on Sunday morning the day before labour day

We'd only been gone two days but somehow the town seemed to be different, smaller.

Third person
They all walked back until they came to a stop

"Well... See you in school" Vern said

"Yeah junior high..." teddy said

Then Vern walked off till he came to a stop and bent over and grabbed something

"Penny!" he said holding a penny

They all just smiled and chuckled

"Well guys I better get home before my mom puts me on the top 10 most wanted list" teddy said laughing

"Oh Chris..." he said

"Yeah?" Chris said

"No hard feelings right?" he asked

"No way man" Chris said smiling

Then he began to sing whilst walking off
"Reads the card of a man! A knight without armour in a savage land"

Older gordie pov

As time went on I saw less and less of teddy and Vern until they just became some kids you see and pass in the halls

It happens sometimes friends come in and out of your life like busboys in a restaurant

I heard that Vern got married out of high school and had four kids and is now a fort lift operator

Teddy tried to get into the army but his eyes and ear kept him out
Last i'd is that he spent some time in jail and was now doing odd jobs around castle rock

Third person
Katie Sarah gordie and Chris all made their ways to the treehouse for one last time to enjoy and relive some memories

"Guys I'm never gonna get out of this town am I?" Chris asked

"Do whatever you wanna do Chris... I'm probably never going to leave this town" Katie said slowly whilst resting her head on his shoulder

"Come on give me some skin" he said looking at everyone

"Il see you" gordie said

"Not if I see you first" Chris responded

Then he just walked off with Sarah leaving gordie and katie alone

Older gordie's pov
Chris did get out he enrolled in college courses with me Katie and Sarah we were like a dream team and although it was hard he gutted it out as usual

He went onto college and eventually became a lawyer

But unfortunately
Last week he entered a fast food restaurant just ahead of him two men got into an argument one of them pulled out a knife Chris who had always made the best peace tried to break it up causing him to get stabbed in the throat he died almost instantly
Although I hadn't seen him in over ten years I know I will always miss him very much

On the other hand for Katie and Sarah they both stayed in castle rock
But sadly a few years ago Sarah attended a party she had gotten drunk once she arrived home she decided to turn on her oven preparing to make food
Then she fell asleep forgetting about the oven
Her house burnt down with her inside
She died from toxic fumes
I was never really close to Sarah but I did care for her very much

This may had been one of the last days me Chris Sarah and Katie had talked to Vern and Teddy
It was also the day I had admitted my feelings to Katie considering I had grown feelings for her over the past few days I had been with her

Thankfully she said yes and we pretty much dated throughout high school

Sadly we broke up once we drifted apart from each other due to me moving away

Although I hadn't seen these people for more than 10 years I know Chris and Sarah will forever be in my heart and for now, at least I know that both of them are up in heaven together considering they both had fallen in love like me and Katie

It never really felt the same after we all drifted apart

I've never had friends like I did when I was 12 God did anyone?
