The pair of you worked, talked, and laughed for the next two hours and then the fun ended with Aizawa's arrival. He knocked before opening the door and beckoned Eri to come with him. You had a therapy session in ten minutes and his class was in All Might's hands currently. So, Aizawa wanted to get Eri situated before going back to dealing with all the usual chaos of those kids.
"Aizawa! Aizawa!" Eri eagerly called out to him. "Does Santa know I am at UA?! Will he stop for everyone and make sure they get their gifts!!"
"He'll stop for you Eri." Aizawa told her and bent down to rub her white locks of hair. "You live here, so your gifts will come here. As for all the students, all their gifts will go to their homes, not the dorms."
"They'll all get gifts though?" She asked and Aizawa nodded.
"How are things?" Aizawa asked you, seeing Eri was very happy and no doubt excited.
"Good! I'm in the holiday spirit." You told him with a smile. "We still have plans for actual Christmas day?"
He nodded. "As soon as I know Eri and the problem children are fine, I'll meet you at your place."
"Sounds great." You nodded at him. "I'll see you around and for a much longer period of time come Christmas! Only a few more days, Aizawa!"
He nodded and then led Eri out. They were gone with a gentle shutting of your door and you hummed happily. You liked Christmas yes, some of your only good memories came from this holiday... but also some of your worst. But those mementos of the past were not going to hold you down this year!
Your family was leaving you alone, looking to finally be giving you the space and respect for that space you had always craved. Plus, you were still spending the holidays with someone. Aizawa had offered to come over so the pair of you could have a small celebration of your own and also exchange your own gifts.
You were as excited as Eri, though you kept your excitement inside of yourself a bit more to look professional at work after all. But come a few days from now... Aizawa would get to witness just how much you adored this time of year.
~~~~~
With Eri being taken care of by Mirio and Midoriya for the evening, Aizawa was comfortable leaving campus. His students would hopefully stay on their best behavior and not nearly get killed as usual... If he had one wish to Santa- it was for his students to all stay safe and happy come the next year.
But he could take his mind off things for a little bit this evening. He was going to see you, someone who people would label as 'his girlfriend' if Aizawa ever went with titles or labeling people. To him, you were still a lovely person who had caught his eye and wanted to see you smile as much as possible.
So yes. A girlfriend of sorts. But he wasn't a stereotypical man and he was grateful you didn't mind the slow pace of your relationship. It took a hero/educator to understand a hero/educator. Something you luckily both were. Thus, you each knew when work needed your attention and when it could be forgotten about for an evening.
As you opened your door to greet him, Aizawa was immediately given a gift. You looked absolutely giddy and he chuckled. He walked in and made his way to your couch and took a seat. You found your spot next to him and waited for him to open his gift.
"Eager?"
"This is my favorite holiday! Now hurry and open your gift! I want to see if you like it!" You told him with slight impatience.
He nodded and did so. The flimsy paper came off and Aizawa was greeted to see a black fabric. He pulled it out and looked at it. It was soft and the ends had a few 'Z's on them. He smirked and wrapped the scarf around his neck and lower face to see how it would look.
It was soft and comfortable and would no doubt make for a good pillow if he needed it to act as such when he would nap during homeroom. Aizawa could feel your eyes on him though and he knew you were waiting for his reaction to your gift. He turned to look at you and saw your big (eye color) hues looking at him with an anxious intensity.
"Do you like it?" You asked him, nervous of his reply.
"It's exactly what I needed." He spoke and started to put the scarf on. "It's only to get colder and I needed a new one."
"Oh good!" You clapped your hands together. "I was so worried I was giving you something you'd hate, have no need for, or already have!"
"You can never have too many layers in the winter." He told you and then put a present of his own onto the table. "And I suppose its my turn to give you a gift."
You beamed and nodded at him before reaching for his gift. It was light and in a rectangular shape. You shook it like a little kid would, but heard nothing that could give you any clues as to what it could be.
"Well?" Aizawa smirked at you. "Open it."
You chuckled and started to do exactly that. The paper came undone and you started to see what was underneath. It was a journal and colored cream with a tiny smiling face in its center. It was cute and you picked it up out of its wrapping and looked at it more.
You started to thumb through the pages, wanting to see what they looked like... but were greeted by something on the first page. You blinked as you took in what was written and the tears immediately started to bubble in your eyes.
In messy, but still legible writing, was a message. One that made your heart squeeze from what it said.
"(Last Name)-sensei always is nice and she makes me smile. -Eri"
You flipped to another page and saw another message. This one was from Midoriya. The next page had one from Present Mic. Then the next page had one from Mirio. And with each turn of the pages, you saw another new message from someone you knew: either through work or as a mentor. Each writing something heartfelt and kind towards you and what you had done for them.
Every single page was filled out. Meaning Aizawa got at least one hundred people to write something. A large task, but an easy one since you were so loved across UA for the help you gave every student and staff member.
"I thought putting together something like this would be a good thing to read when you do start to feel down. To remind you of how appreciated and cared for you are." Aizawa told you.
You wiped your eyes and nodded at him with a smile. "Thanks. This... is more than I could have ever asked for."
Aizawa chuckled before he slowly leaned in towards you. You blinked in surprise as his lips pressed against your and he kissed you gently but passionately. You took a moment but you replied back to his affections.
"I hope that wasn't over board then." Aizawa teased you when you both parted.
"You are such a meanie at times." You laughed but moved to lay your head on his shoulder. "Thanks though. I really love this."
"I had a feeling you would." He told you and sighed. "I wanted to make you happy."
You smiled. "You already do."
Aizawa blinked before he chuckled. The room grew silent, yet both of you were comfortably on the couch just gently resting. It had been a long year, but it was ending on a wonderful note if anyone were to ask you.
And you would make sure to fight for this little slive of happiness you had found. Because it and the people part of it were more precious than you could ever describe. And it seemed, that you too were precious to them just as much. Especially the tired teacher falling asleep next to you.
The End.
