A snowflake floated in the open air, dancing across the sky. It twisted and twirled in the wind, gliding along with the other snowdrops.
But soon, it drifted off in another direction, frolicking through the winter breeze. Paving a new path, it soon flies off to another area. It wasn't long until the snowflake landed.
Its journey ends on a nose, one of a little girl whose lips stretched into a smile as she looked at it, eyes glowing with curiosity.
"Sho-nii! Look! A snowflake landed on my nose!" Eri screeched in excitement, waving her chocolate-covered hand. She quickly stopped when the snow began to sway.
Shouto could only softly chuckle at the little girl in front of him, using a hand to cover his smile. Although, she would complain if she ever heard him say that she was a little girl. No no, she was a big girl, no longer young, especially now she was in the double digits.
"Why don't I grab it and show you how it looks?"
Eri went to nod only to stop herself moments before she could.
"Yes please," she whispered, worried that the snowflake would fall off if she were any louder.
Shouto suppressed another giggle at the sweet girl in front of him before cooling his right hand down, making sure it was cold enough not to melt the snowflake perched on Eri's nose, but warm enough to not hurt Eri.
He slowly reached his hand out, carefully grasping the little small snowflake with two fingers before cupping it in his hand.
A soft squeal escaped Eri when the cold hand brushed against her nose. Delighted laughter fell from her lips when she saw Shouto opening his palm to show her the snowflake. She couldn't help but feel exhilarated despite seeing it every year since she met Izu-nii.
The snowflake sat in the center of Shouto's palm, surprisingly keeping its shape. It seemed a bit uneven but it had been on Eri's nose, the warmth from her melting a bit in the middle. However, it looked perfect to the two who watched it with awe.
After a few moments, Eri spoke again.
"Hey, Shonii?"
Shouto moves his attention from the snowflake to Eri. Just like her, he really enjoyed winter, despite seeing it so often. It wasn't until he met Izuku that he could truly enjoy it for all its beauty.
"Yes, Eri?"
She leaned in and waved him down, pointing at his ear.
Shouto looked at her, tilting his head towards the snowflake and then back.
Eri stares at it for a moment before nodding towards the open field of snow.
Shouto took it as a sign, dropping the snowflake and leaning his head towards Eri, turning his head.
The little girl cupped her hands around her mouth and moved closer to his ear.
"Do we have any peppermint bark left?" Eri whispered, but now for an entirely different reason.
Shouto's eyebrows scrunched a bit but he nodded his head, waiting for what she would say next.
"Can we give some to Izu-nii? He's been standing there for a while and I think he wants to join us but is too nervous."
Shouto smiled as he listened. Eri has such a kind heart and he knew where she got it from.
He moved away from the little girl and turned to grab a piece of their chocolate. Shouto grinned, knowing Izuku watched them normally but never wanted to join despite Shouto reassuring that he wouldn't be intruding. Seems like he got caught this year.
