"Declan help me get into the swings I want to go higher than Sophia and dean push me will Ya" 4-year-old me commands him.

"Anything for you Aria you're my bestfriend for life you butt nugget" he snorts on the last part.

"Declan pwomise to never leave me, I don't want you to go you're my bestfriend" I plead onto his shoulder.

He sighs then takes off his favorite ring that always lays on his left ring finger and puts it on my left ring finger "y'know some day Aria I will replace this ring with a diamond one that has our initials on the inside, and it will only be worn on your right ring finger." he states with a heartwarming look.

"Well what difference does it make which finger you put it on and diamonds sound expensive doncha think"  I question him still looking down at the ring he just gave me.

"That's for you to find out when you get older and don't worry about the cost because you're always worth it butt nugg-DINNERS READY!! His mom shouts cutting him off.

He turns to me "Aria I have to go now say hi to Athena for me and give her a treat for me will Ya?" he asks.

I nod as a response when I walked inside my house, I took my shoes off and instantly hit my toe on the coffee table, and from there on out I had a gut feeling something was wrong. I sat down to eat dinner with my mom. Lord she can throw down in the kitchen.

"Mommy is papa working late again tonight?" I ask with sad puppy eyes.

"Yes, dear he called and said he won't be home till 3am that's crazy right they work your father to death''. She exclaims with a little anger in her voice. What a lie he was screwing his secretary over his desk while his wife and child waited for him to show his face at home.

She speaks again "enough about your father has Declan told you what's happening tomorrow?"

I nod my head 'no' with the look of  suspense written on my face.

She takes a long inhale and says in one breath "I can't believe that you and Declan are best fucking buds, and he didn't tell you he was moving tomorrow morning so early that you won't get to see him off so today was the last time you are going to see him I'm so sorry sweetheart I wish they could stay but they have to go take care of their grandma in Colorado".

And 4-year-old me felt my heart break into 15 million different pieces that really was my first heart break, because nothing is as painful as losing a best friend.

I threw my dish in the sink because I suddenly lost my appetite and ran upstairs to my room holding back tears as I slid into my bed and pulled the covers over my head. That night I cried all night long wondering why my best friend felt like he couldn't tell me himself that he was leaving. I reach down to fiddle with the ring he gave me hoping that all of this would just be a joke and it would be over by morning.

It wasn't a joke.

As I approached the house with my mom at 8:34 am I see the inside of the house in completely empty and dark and my eyes turn glossy, and I looked at my mom.

"Aw sweetie don't cry" my mom softened her voice, but it just makes me cry even harder and I run to jump in her grasp looking for the comfort I need.

I didn't go outside for two weeks until Dean and Sophia came to my house looking for me.

"Ms. Hendrix is Aria here if she is can she pwease come play with me and Dean?" Sophia asks my mom with pleading eyes.

"Sure sweetie let me go call her" she said as she disappeared into the house to call me.

"ARIAAAAAAAA"

"Aria"?

"Aria"?

"Ms. Hendrix?" my professor exclaims snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Sorry Mr. Blackmond" I narrow my eyes at him and smile.

He lets out a low scoff as he turns and rolls his eyes. Why he is being so bitchy his class is the most boring class I have ever had good lord I'll be glad when I graduate from college, speaking that I'm only a freshman. God, I hate my life in so many ways shapes and forms that it's ridiculous.

If I had a tail, it would be wagging as I hear the bell ring to go to the next class. I turn to get up when my professor tells me he needs to have a brief talk with me.

Just fucking great, you know this is just my luck

I walk up to his desk, and he hands me my test results.

"Aria I know you can do better, please pay attention next time". he says as I grab the paper and walk out. Can I just have a fucking break Jesus.

I see my two friends walking towards me and my heart smiles as i see them smiling at me

"Aria did you hear" Sophia questions and

"Yea aria did you hear about it" Dean chimes in.

"No I didn't hear about anything would yall just fucking tell me already" I say clearly already kind of pissed off.

"Ok well do I tell her or.... oh fuck it never mind there's this new boy he is hot as my momma's belt after she beat the black, blue and white off of me that time I got into her expensive ass makeup and ruined it all". Sophia says.

I reach up to my neck to fidget with the ring on the chain his ring.

I wonder would I ever see this new boy.

No, I probably never will if he's as hot as Sophia described him.

"Well, see yall later I don't want to be late for my next class that teacher is an asshole". I exclaim with a long dramatic sigh.

"Bye love you ill text you" Sophia and dean yells as they walk off

I've always shipped them together.

I walk into my next class and sit all my books down before I take a seat and turn to the front of the class where my teacher stands waiting for our attention.

"Class, we have a newest addition to our room come on in and introduce yourself" she tells him as he starts walking to the front to stand beside her.

I can't take my eyes off him he's so hot. he's around 6'4 muscles that rib out of his button up Armani shirt, tattoos for days, the face of a literal god, a messy undercut his hair is so fluffy I just want to run my hands through it one time. After all that he has big ocean blue eyes that reminds me of someone, but I can't think of who it is.

"Hi" he says and tries to walk off.

"Wait wait wait now sonny boy you got to tell us your name" the teacher says.

"Declan"

"Declan Osullivan"
