xi. Returning to Asgard

Start from the beginning

A tear runs down Freya's cheek and Thor finally relents, "Fine. I should have known that you would follow me anyway. You always do. No matter what." Freya quickly wipes the tear off her cheek before Thor wraps his arm around her waist. The God of Thunder swings around his hammer before the both Asgardians fly off into the sky, taking a much faster way to the palace. When they get to their destination, the two gods march to Odin's chambers. The blonde and the raven haired Asgardians stop in the doorway as the former calls out, "Loki."

At the sound of her son's voice, Frigga turns to face them, "Thor! Freya!" The older woman rushes over to her eldest son and embraces him as she says, "I knew you'd return to us." Thor stares at Loki with a harsh glare on his face as Freya stares at the betrayer with a hurt expression. Frigga releases Thor and quickly embraces Freya, beaming, "I knew that if I sent you after Thor, he would come home much sooner."

Frigga releases Freya as Thor stalks over to his younger brother, who backs away. The blonde prince speaks to his brother as the older Asgardian watches on, "Why don't you tell her how you sent the Destroyer to kill our friends, to kill me, to kill Freya?"

"What?" Frigga asks, caught off guard by what her oldest son is speaking of.

Loki looks at his brother on the other side of Odin's bed and answers, "Why, it must have been enforcing father's last command."

Thor shakes his head at his brother, "You're a talented liar, brother. Always have been."

Freya slowly walks down the stairs as Frigga watches on, "Why did you do it, Loki?"

The raven haired prince evades Thor's question, "It's good to have you back." Loki glances over to Freya and quickly adds on, "Both of you." He looks back over at Thor and gestures to himself, "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to destroy Jotunheim." Loki points the staff at Thor and sends a blast toward him. The blonde prince flies through the wall and free falls to the ground outside.

The dark haired beauty takes a step forward and gasps out, "Thor!"

Loki points the staff at Freya, causing her to take a step back, "Step aside, Freya. I don't want to hurt you."

Freya shakes her head at the younger prince and informs him, "Oh, Loki. You already have." A look of sadness passes across Loki's face before he quickly covers it up and sends a blast toward Freya. The goddess flies past Frigga and into the chambers across the hall from Odin's. Freya falls down to the ground, unconscious.

Thor stalks into the golden dome, where he sees his younger brother standing next to the podium with lightning bolts frozen midair as Jotunheim is being destroyed. Loki looks to his brother and seethes at the blonde with horror written across his face, "You can't stop it. The Bifrost will build until it rips Jotunheim apart." Thor rushes over to the ice cascading down the steps leading to the podium. The blonde Asgardian raises his hammer into the air to smash it down onto the ice when his brother uses the staff to send a blast toward Thor, pushing him back onto the ground.

The God of Thunder gets onto his feet and asks the God of Mischief, "Why have you done this?"

Loki stares his older brother down as he replies, "To prove to father that I am the worthy son. When he wakes, I will have saved his life. I will have destroyed that race of monsters. And I will be true heir to the throne!"

Thor shakes his head as he reasons with Loki, "You can't kill an entire race!"

The raven haired prince shakes his head and asks, "Why not?" He laughs in disbelief before he walks toward Thor, "And what is this newfound love for the Frost Giants? You could have killed them all with your bare hands."
