morning patrol is one of peter's favorite parts of the day. swinging through new york in the winter air is a perfect way for him to clear his mind, especially after the usual sleepless nights he has. without tony's technology, peter's new suit doesn't have a built-in heater, but honestly, the cold doesn't bother him that much anyway.

without nick fury or any of the avengers, peter is back to being a friendly neighborhood spider-man. it's what he's always wanted, to be a normal spider guy who helps people and doesn't have to worry about saving the world from aliens and global threats. however, peter doesn't feel satisfied. isn't this what i wanted? how come i feel like this isn't enough? he can't tell if he longs for more adventure or just wishes his life was back to normal with the people he loves most. either way, peter battles these thoughts every day. he's unsure of what he's supposed to be doing other than stopping potential car crashes or burglaries. maybe he's only meant for that, who knows.

one of the only things that has stayed the same even after the spell was cast is the old dominican lady who gives him a churro every day. sure she doesn't know peter, the boy under the mask, but she's always known spider-man. thank you for looking out for us, she tells him. of course ma'am, and thank you for the awesome churro! peter replies charismatically. every time she gives him a churro, peter gets emotional; in a way it feels like she's the only one in the world who remembers who he is.
