The midnight hour struck and a mysterious darkness swept over the village.

The wind blew hard and tore away the last leaves on the trees. The cold time had begun to set in and lay like a layer over what once was safe and warm.

It was quiet. not a sound of a human could be heard for miles, not a living soul to be spotted.

but there were still people living there. they only stayed inside when darkness came and seized with greed.

you realize it was forbidden to set foot in the night if you did not have a death wish.

there were many secrets floating right over their heads.

They just did not see them..

They call them witchers. you will be killed in a terrible way if you dare to go out.

up in all this. in a small old house with walls that crackled and had a large amount of penetration, a little boy sat around the age of seventeen..

In the light of a candle he sat reading an old book on his desk that was worn and as old as the rest of the house.

They were not the richest, but the village itself was poor and it could be difficult to stay there.

he also did not have the clothes for the winter and the food they had quickly ran out..

He also had a brother who was three years older than him and his brother had already started working to help the family..

His father worked as a sailor and he only got to see him once or twice in three months..

his brother helped with his father's job and often went on trips with his father..

His mother worked in a clothing company where only women worked and they were poorly paid..

but his mother could not afford a new job and women were not entitled to as much as men.

so she had no choice.

there were many who could not afford and had to live on the streets, and if you were thrown out on the street your death was near..

it was always a struggle in your life to get through what you had

but he always respected his mother with kindness and love..

He did everything he could to make his poor weak mother happy, to see her smile.

The wind blew through the worn window and made the curtains flutter into the room.

it became abruptly cold and he was almost forced to get up and close the window that had been opened by the strong wind.

He grabbed the handle of the candle holder and went to the bed on the other side of the room.

There he placed the candle on the bedside table and went to the window before leaning out a little..

he pressed himself against the window sill as he reached out for the window.

the wind hit his face hard and blew the black mid neck hair backwards..

when he was about to close it he spotted a little boy around the age of eleven it seemed running in the street..

he ran after a ball he probably must have lost..

his boots sounded as he ran over the brown yellow leaves on the ground..

he breathed heavily as he tried to stop the ball from rolling longer..

He stumbled and fell but he hit a man who appeared to be twice as tall as him.

(??? Pov)

I had stopped in the window watching the scene in front of me..

The tall man wore a long black cloak with the hood over his head so it was impossible to see who or what it was ..

The little boy in front of him was terrified by fear that made me almost fall backwards.

the man grabbed the little boy by the neck and started beating him..

no matter how much crying and fear I knew no one was going to go out and try to save him..

I closed the window quickly but could not help but take my eyes off the terrible thing that happened out there ..

The walls were not very tight and when I saw the man stabbing a knife right in the boy's eye I heard the most painful scream I have ever heard ..

he stabbed the boy's face over and over again .. he stabbed him to death ..

I turned quickly. What had I just seen? I heard several horrible screams before it became quiet.

Dangerously quiet..

I turned around to close the curtains and saw the two yellow eyes glaring in my direction..

The boy laid there with a twisted neck.. he couldt be recognized as a human anymore. He was literally destroyed.

a panic spread all over me as I tore the curtains together and fell on the ground..

My knees were close to my chest while my arms held tight around me as if I let go I would die..

my hair fell down in front of my face and covered my eyes like a curtain..

Slowly I let my trembling breath fall out and tried to find a rhythm to get the air that had stopped abruptly up my throat.

I put a hand over my heart and counted my heart rate .. I have always had a problem with stress..

"It's okay, I am safe…"
