‎Kira walked toward her room, exhaustion heavy in her steps. Makho had given her extra work, and though she’d pushed through and finished it, her body was now begging for rest. She longed for nothing more than to collapse onto her bed.

‎But when she opened her door, her breath caught. There he was—Makho—sitting casually on her bed, arms crossed, eyes sharper than the night itself. The sight of him made her knees weak, her pulse quicken. For years, she had kept her feelings locked away, telling herself they were impossible, forbidden. Yet here he was, close enough to shatter every defense she had built.

‎“You worked hard today,” Makho said, his voice steadier than the whiskey lingering on his breath. It startled her, not because of the words—he had never spoken them before—but because of the way he said her name after. “Thank you for your hard work, Kira.”

‎Her heart tumbled inside her chest.

‎He’s never said my name like that before.

‎“I-I’m just doing my job, boss,” she stuttered, her cheeks burning crimson.

‎He stood and walked toward her, closing the distance until her mind could barely process anything but him. His hand caught hers, and before she could react, he pressed her against the wall. His presence consumed her, his lips grazing her ear with whispered words she could hardly understand. Her body betrayed her hesitation—every nerve alive, every breath trembling.

‎Kira wanted to resist, to remind him of what was forbidden, but her voice broke into silence when his lips claimed hers. The kiss was fierce, hungry, but deep beneath it, there was something else—something she couldn’t name. His touch set her ablaze, and even as her mind questioned whether this was the same man she had worked for all these years, her body knew only longing.

‎The night unfolded with every stolen breath, every whispered command, every shiver that slipped from her lips. His movements were both rough and tender, a contradiction that left her trembling in his arms. Pain gave way to pleasure, hesitation to surrender, until she lost herself in the rhythm of him, the rhythm of them.

‎And when it was over, when exhaustion finally weighed her eyelids shut, Kira smiled faintly, her heart caught between disbelief and desire.

‎If this was forbidden, then let her sin live forever in the glow of his name.
