Chapter 3

Kinsey's sat alone in a dark room and the words 'your invitation to Hogwarts isn't coming' written on the wall.
She's eating her sandwich as she hears footsteps coming down the stairs.
She noticed it's just the guy from the ice cream shop.
"Hey how's it going, you mind if I sit, Rocky road."
He says way too enthusiastically.
"Excuse me?" She asks
"Rocky road!, it's a 'nom de guerre', you know it's both the ice cream you ordered yesterday and we'll your life, Rocky road"
He explains
"I ordered mint chip my little sister ordered Rocky road"
Kinsey says
"But imagine if YOU did"
He says sitting down
"Look, if this is your spot-"
Kinsey started just to be cut off by the boy.
"No, no, no, no, I've been looking for you like everywhere."
He says Kinsey looks at him questioning.
"That came out wrong what I meant to say was when I saw you yesterday I thought man that girls weird, no I thought now here's a girl who's clearly trying to play down how cool she is and is just sitting under the stairs eating her Bologna."
He says irritating Kinsey enough.
"Okay, look first of all it's pronounced baloney and second it's fologna because I'm vegetarian and third I like my fologna just fine thanks."
She says trying to win the argument.
"Mmm, fologna doesn't even like itself it's a self loathing substitute for lunch meat for a self loathing lunch meat it taste like boredom and you Kinsey Locke are not boring."
He says
"Scot cavendish"
He says as he holds out his hand for her to shake which she did.
"So me and my droogs are have a thing later and you should come."
He says
"You have friends?"
She asks
"More than one infact, we call ourselves the savini squad."
He says rather proudly.
"I thought you said your last name was cavendish"
Kinsey says
"Well I did and it is but it would be pretty lame to name the squad after myself wouldn't it"
Scot replies.
"No savini , Tom savini, you know the god father of the gore, you know the man that put artist is special effects and makeup artist."
Kinsey just looks at him blankly.
"Dawn of the dead, creep show, Friday 13th?"
Scot says
"Are they movies or something?"
Kinsey asks and Scot's eyes go wide.
"Wait, are you messing with me?"
Scot asks Kinsey just smiles
"Come play with us, Rocky road"
Scot says
"Thanks but no"
Kinsey says
"So what you just gonna sit under the stairs all year round"
He says
"I have a 118 fologna sandwiches till the end of the year."
She says
"I'll be here every day counting down"
She carries on
"Well that sounds bloody awful so how about I ping you the address and when your ready for a dollop of sriracha, we'll be here."
Scot says and Kinsey's phone gets a notification.
Scot then leaves, leaving Kinsey there alone.

...at school in the ice hockey rink...

Tyler is skating around and through cones and scoring.
When he gets a flash back similar to Nina's but from his point of view.
He snaps out of it and goes to the side of the rink to get his drink.
"You got skills dude."
A boy says as him and his friend come up to him.
"Seriously"
his friend says
"I'm javi and that's brinker"
javi says
"Tyler locke"
Tyler responds
"We could totally use you"
brinker says
"What's your position?"
Javi asks
"I played centre at my old school in Seattle"
Tyler says
"You don't have to play centre to get laid here girls love trauma"
Javi says
"Wait what?"
Tyler asks confused
"Dude you've been through real shit, you know how dope that is to someone that nothing has happened to."
Javi says
"Trust me the grass ain't greener."
Tyler says
"Look we're throwing a party tonight, you should totally come dude."
Brinker says skating off as the coach starts yelling for them.
Tyler follows soon after.

...meanwhile back at key house...

The two youngest Locke's were very young and naive, they were running around in their heelys.

"Bode , Ev, hey bode"
Nina called seeing two of her children by the door.
"I'm going to the hardware store to pick up some things wanna come."
Nina asked her youngest son.
"No not really."
Bode says
"Okay we'll text me on the iPad if you need something, come on ev."
Nina says encouraging her daughter to come with her.
"Can I just stay here Mom please"
Evelyn says
"I can't leave you alone here your to young"
Nina says
"I've got bode, and I promise we'll be good"
Evelyn says
"Okay just stay safe and out of trouble"
Nina agrees.
"Aloha"
Bode says and sticks his middle finger up at Nina.
"Bye mom"
Evelyn says while giggling as her and bode walk to the kitchen.
They make a massive bowl of cereal and watch bode's iPad.
The youngest Locke's turn to face each other as the hear whispering
"You can here that too right?"
Evelyn asks bode.
"Uh huh"
Bode says nodding his head.
Bode picks up one doll and Evelyn picks up the other.
"Hear that sir?"
Evelyn imitates the soldier
"At ease it's probably nothing"
Bode says imitating G.I joe.
The two kids turn to look at each other and nod.
They head out to the well house.
Bode takes out the picture of last night when they were in the well house.
"You sure you wanna do this, Ev?"
Bode says
"I need to see if we were right"
Evelyn says
Bode sighs and they slide in threw the bars.
"Hello?"
bode says leaning over the well house.
"Anybody?"
Evelyn says
"We know that someone's down there"
Bode says
"I'm here bode, hello again Evelyn"
The echo replies
"Who are you?"
Bode asks
"I'm an echo, your echo, you woke me up"
The echo says
"Why are you down there?"
Bode asks the well lady
"Echos can come to life in this place"
The well lady responds
"Well no shit"
Evelyn says
"Sassy I must say I admire your courage Evelyn"
The well lady says
"Have you found any keys yet"
The lady says
"What keys?"
Bode questions
"Your house is filled with amazing keys, there's a key that lets you step outside your body and be a ghost and another that can change the way you look, the best is the key that can take you anywhere in the world you wanna go if you know how to use it, it's made of gold and has six interlinked circles."
The lady says
"Where can we find them."
Bode says
"You listen for them they whisper"
The lady says and Evelyn turns to look at bode.
"Have you heard any whispering in key house?"
The lady says
"Yes..."
Bode says
"They'll only call to people who are very special like you bode and you Evelyn."
The lady says
"Bode!, Evelyn!"
The hear Nina shout in the back ground
"Shit!"
Evelyn curses
"We gotta go and you gotta spend less time with Duncan"
Bode says pointing at me
"Better not tell anybody about visiting your echo in the well house they might worry"
The Well lady says
"That and Tyler will kick our asses."
Evelyn says
"Okay now we really gotta go"
bode says pulling Evelyn away
