Kiraz strolled through the dirty streets of Joiut. He scrunched up his nose as the foul odor of death hit his nose. That smell tormented Kiraz through his dreams. He remembered Helviar's smirk as he pulled up and act and yelled '' Delusional! Delusional!,'' His parents shot onto the floor. Kiraz closed his eyes and shook that thought away.
Kiraz reached Haskell's workshop. He touched the knob and tried to open it. It was stuck. Kiraz tugged it, and the door finally opened. When Kiraz opened the door, he heard Haskell's annoying voice.
'' Hey! You'll break my door!'' Haskell said, with a horrid, raspy voice. Kiraz faced Haskell. Haskell was 6'5 roughly an inch taller than Kiraz. He smelled like dried blood. He had broad shoulders, heavily built. Black greasy hair and a black goatee. His smirk would make people fear him. But Kiraz didn't fear him.
'' I'm done,'' Kiraz said, his amber eyes staring at Haskell. Haskell grunted; a grunt full of pure hatred. He shoved 200 reys on the table and Kiraz grabbed it. He counted it carefully and put it in his pocket. When Kiraz was about to walk out, Haskell stopped him.
'' I have another mission if you're up,'' Haskell said. Kiraz exhaled heavily. This was his third mission this day. And how much was he paid? 200 reys. Not even enough to feed himself in a week. But Kiraz stood there, listening to what he had to say.
'' What is it?'' Kiraz asked. Haskell gnawed on the corner of his lips, so hard, they were about to bleed.
'' I need you to free Nikolai, last soldier of the Greyet war. He's held captive by Freyer Kasyye,'' Haskell said. Freyer. He was one of the most trusted people that the Nightace had.
'' What is it in for me?,'' Haskell let out a bitter laugh. '' Reys,'' he said, still cracking up.
'' How much?,'' Kiraz asked. Haskell looked like he was thinking. '' How about, 10,000 reys?,''
'' Not enough,'' Kiraz said. Haskell threw his hand back and gritted his teeth with anger. '' 1 million reys,'' he said. '' Deal,'' Kiraz said, shaking Haskell's hand. His hand was rough, cracked.
'' Where is he captured?,''
'' Hojer,'' Haskell said, a smirk on his face. Hojer was a highly dangerous place, with soldiers guarding the supremes at all times. Haskell smirked at the defeat on Kiraz's face. Kiraz walked out and picked up his phone.
'' Hello?'' Jesper answered, drunkenly. Not again. Kiraz could have betted that Jesper was also gambling in the Oculus. Kiraz rubbed his forehead. Jesper was sadly the only option he had left.
'' Another mission,'' He could have heard Jesper suck his teeth. '' Does that Haskell has a forest shoved up his ass? I swear, he always asks us for missions,'' Jesper cursed in deep Joiut.
'' What is my share?,'' Jesper asked. He sounded plainly annoyed. He thought that the amount was a tiny amount.
'' 500,000 reys,'' There was a silence in the background and Jesper laughed.
'' For real?,''
'' Jesper, does it ever look like a joke around,''
'' Be right back, sir,'' Jesper added, obviously sounding pleased. Kiraz checked his pocket watch. A quarter to 11. The sun already set, and the mission would have been even more dangerous. Especially with the darkness. But Kiraz liked it that way. Dangerous. He saw Jesper running towards him. His black hair, flying back as he ran. His caramel-brown skin reflected the light. His silver pistols glinting in the moonlight.
Jesper didn't act drunk, although he kind of stumbled. He fidgeted around as he was estatic for the journey.
'' What do we have to do, sir?,'' Jesper asked.
'' Find Nikolai,'' Jesper's excitement slowly disappeared as he realized the quest. '' That's suicide, boss. There's no way we can cross without getting shot at,''
'' Not if, we take a different route. I know this is one specific route we can take. But it's very risky, but, there will be no soldiers supervising that area,'' Kiraz said. Jesper pressed his lip tightly until it turned pale.
'' Fine,.'' Jesper said. Kiraz went to the dockyard and Jesper hit his hand against his thigh with frustration.
'' We have no boat,'' he complained. '' We do, now,'' Kiraz said as he cut a rope connecting with the boat with his dagger. He sliced another rope in half and walked onto the boat.
'' Where are the keys?,'' Kiraz asked as he searched. Jesper pulled some keys under the mat. He dusted it out.
''Wow, surprisingly dumbasses leave them under the mat,'' he said. Kiraz started the boat and drove off of the shore.
'' So you're calling me a dumbass?,'' Kiraz asked. Jesper's face flushed red with embarrassment as he fumbled for words. '' No- No sir,,'' Jesper studdered. Kiraz drove straight in the ocean and Jesper offered to drive. Kiraz declined as the breeze hit his face. Sometimes, he wished that everything could have gone back to normal. Him having a mother and father. But that was just fantasy. The fantasy that would have never happened.
