Modern day
Sometimes I get so wrapped up in my own head. I could spend hours standing on one spot, thinking. It never stops, my mind is like a broken record.
I try to find ways to get away from it all, smoking, drinking. But nothing beats car rides. I press the gas and everything I was thinking of just dissapears. So that's what I did today when I got too overwhelmed.
I drove on the highway watching the lines on the road. I didn't even really know where I was, it didn't matter. Since we have modern technology I can just look up a map on Google or something. Funny how many new things have came out in the last decade or two. And it's funny just how long I've been alive, how fast time passes. I took a nap in 2005 and woke up in 2021. I'm 46 years old now, I sure don't feel like it. I still feel like I'm 30 or something.
Time itself is an interesting thing. Funny how we're either focused on the past or the future. Nobody ever focuses on what's right in front of them and it shows with how the world is. People don't think twice about what they hear on TV.
I'm snapped out of my thoughts by a pair of bright lights right in front of me. All I remember was me screaming and trying to swerve out of the way as I was blinded by the bright lights.
