It was an immense fight going on between Jack and the masked man whom, Jack believed to be clement’s murderer. They were going in with everything they had , to kill each other. Suddenly , there was a deadly silence , and then somebody stabbed Jack from the back . jack almost lost his balance . there came a whisper near his ear , a sound which jack could recognize without even looking. The voice said ,”sorry brother..” it was Bob , Jack’s only younger brother .
Jack just fell on his knees . he said , “I knew that you had a part in this murder but never thought you could do this to me Bob (groans)” tears of agony could be seen dwelling up in Jack’s eyes . Bob then said , “since you were my brother I’m not chopping off your head , you have my word , you can die peacefully . Rest in peace brother .” he then with the masked man ran away from the room . Jack wanted to chase them and complete his case but the words which Bob had uttered, had hit him like a bullet . he knew there was no point in trying to move as he was bleeding more and more profusely. He laid down thinking and remembering about how he had solved the mystery of clement’s murder to himself but he was dying without being able to catch the culprit which only he knew . he had informed his counterparts before coming to where he was now .
It had all begun like most of the stories begin , Jack was coming back after a late night dinner at his friend’s house . while he was walking he saw some people coming out of clement’s house and running . he sensed something wrong and wanted to check but after the dinner he was tired and wanted to go home and rest . He ignored the incident and went home
Jack opened his house’s door and saw Bob and his friends sitting at the couch and watching football . Jack asked , “how long guys ? Bob , you have your office tomorrow , come on brother go and sleep” Bob answered respectfully and immediately , “sure brother” Jack smiled and went to his room and fell asleep immediately .
Next day both of them woke up and had the breakfast and Bob was about to start for his office when he asked , “hey Jack , so how’s everything going at the crime branch these days ?” Jack replied frankly , “ nothing , all cases have been solved , now we just sit idle for most of the time .” to Jack’s surprise he got a call from his office stating that clement , an aspiring but popular businessman was found murdered and they had to investigate on it . Jack hanged up the call and said ,”now,…that was pretty fast . Bob see (laughs) now we just got a case of this clement who has been murdered . Let me go and check .” Bob , who was ready to go said , “ok ok , very sad… meet you afterwards brother , good luck at it .” saying this he went out .
Jack dressed up and went to clement’s to investigate the crime scene . clement’s throat had been slit into two mercilessly . it definitely needed someone with serious strength to do that . There were around four tea cups on the table . the officer told Jack that the t.v was switched on . Jack asked ,”who was the one who first saw this dead body ?” a old but a strong voice answered ,”it was me ,sir” a man capable enough to commit such a crime had come to him . He said ,”sir, I am his servant . I have been working here from the past three years .” Jack asked immediately ,”first of all , how did you enter this house ?” the servant replied ,”Clement sir had given me the spare key of this house as I had to come here every morning before he woke up and keep everything ready for him , but today when I entered…..” For Jack this guy was a sure was a sure suspect . he said to his counterparts ,”record this guy’s statement , we need him for questioning .” then he started searching the house for some clues . he found some photos of Clement with a girl . he said to his officer ,”I want you to search about this girl and bring her for questioning .” he then started checking Clement’s belongings . he also found a card near Clement’s body and slipped it under his coat . Jack asked his officer to get Clement’s phone record from the cyber cell as fast as possible . he then went to the neighbours to ask them on how Clement actually was but could not find the answers he wanted as most of them didn’t know him . the servant intervened by saying ,”he was a very kind person sir , who could commit such a crime ?” There was still time left but Jack went home to think about the case . it was around nine when Bob came . As soon as he saw Jack he asked ,”hey, what happened about that businessman ?” Jack replied ,”ohh nothing , it looks like some sorts of revenge but who did it ? probably the servant or the girlfriend . he didn’t have any enemies as I heard .” a sign of relief could be seen on Bob’s face . On noticing that Jack asked ,”what happened ?” Bob quickly replied ,”no no , nothing brother I’m just tired .” he then went to his room .
After some deep thinking Jack , went to his office the next day to question the servant and the girl . He went in the questioning room . the servant was sitting there still , but panicked as soon as he saw Jack . Jack sat on the chair and started (firmly) ,”So , mr . Vincent , tell me everything you know about your master . did you have any grudges against your master ?” Vincent looked like an obedient servant , he said ,”ok sir , Mr.Clement appointed me three years back when he had shifted here . my shift was from 6:30 in the morning to 8:30 in the night . he treated me well but when he was a sober he would torture me a lot . one day….” There was a pause . tears could be seen flowing from Vincent’s eyes . jack was desperate to know he said ,”come on , say it “ Vincent continued in a grim tone ,”one day he was out of his limits , he was beating me , my son was present and tried to save me but Clement, he….he…”there was a pause again . he could not control his tears . Jack asked ,”what happened next ?, tell me” Vincent continued , “ sir , he killed my son. He pushed him off the stairs .” Jack’s mind started racing through numerous probabilities and theories . Jack asked ,”then why didn’t you file a police complaint ?” Vincent replied ,”he threatened me , he said that if I say this to anyone then he would kill rest of my family . he then paid me some money as compensation .” Jack came to the question for which he wanted an answer . he asked ,”tell me the truth , did you kill Clement ?” Vincent bore down completely and said ,”NO sir, I wanted him to die for killing my son but I don’t have the mental strength to do it ….” Jack thought for a moment and stood up and said ,”ok we will see” then walked out of the room .
Next was the girl . after reading her report they sat down in the questioning room . Jack quickly started ,”so , Ms.Janett what do you have to say on Clement’s murder ?” janett was a young smart lady . she had her head down since coming there . she started in a melancholic tone ,”Clement w..was everything for me . He did so much for me but…….” Jack interrupted and said ,” I don’t want to hear this nonsense tell me everything or you will have to face the consequences .” it took her some time , and then she continued ,”he had promised me to buy a flat and a luxurious car on my name but he didn’t . we had a big rift on this . lately he couldn’t find time to spend with me even . he spend time with others .” Jack asked ,”coming to the point , did you kill Clement ?” Janett replied ,”he cheated me.. but I can’t kill a person for that . I have not done it sir .” Jack asked her to go . his mind was confused on these two suspects and that’s when the phone report came , which changed the whole perspective of this mysterious growing case .
According to the phone report , most of the calls made were business calls but there was one number which Jack identified at an instant and was also shocked at the same time . it was Bob’s number . Jack immediately left for Bob’s office . Bob was working on some project when Jack came in . Bob asked anxiously ,”hi brother . what’s up ?” Jack was rather in a furious mood he said ,”you knew Clement before his death right Bob ? why didn’t you tell it to me ?” Bob’s expressions underwent a sudden change . Jack laid down the phone report in front of his table . Bob knew there was no escape this time , he said ,”sorry brother , I wanted to …..” Jack interrupted and said ,”say , right ? now come with me “ then he made Bob come to his office . Jack started questioning him and started ,”so Bob , elaborate “ Bob’s face could tell that he was tensed . He said ,”ok,ok.. so I met Clement when he shifted here . we became good friends and rather very good ones . we used to hangout everyday . then we started our own business , he was my partner .” Jack asked ,” so did you know that Clement’s life was in danger ? “ Bob answered quickly ,”NO,NO I didn’t know anything above business deals .” Jack asked ,”but he was your best friend right ?” BOB was starting to get frustrated . He said ,”come on , I have already said that I don’t know , now let me go , I have work to do brother .” Jack with a sign of suspicion asked Bob to go . Jack noticed a sign of relief on Bob’s face when he said that . Jack now knew that Bob had some part in the murder . So to make things more clearer he decide to question his friends .
Next day Bob’s friends were questioned but Jack’s attempt was in vain . He could not extract anything from them . They all had the same answer ,”we don’t know anything sir .“ Now Jack’s mind was going for a toss . he had various theories and stories running through . He believed that the servant was the murderer . his mind didn’t want to consider Bob as the murderer as he was his brother . Next day suddenly , one of Bob’s friends ,James came and desperately wanted to speak to Jack . Jack asked ,”hey James , what happened ?” James said ,”sir, I want to confess something “ Jack asked ,”confess ? on what ? “ James replied ,”on Clement’s murder” Jack asked him to sit down and explain everything .
James started in a very soft tone ,”sir, I know everything about the murder . sir , I can’t hold it anymore “ Jack said ,”we will help you James if you tell everything “ James continued ,”Clement and Bob had become very good friends . they then decided to start a business in a partnership . at first everything was good , but later things started getting worse . Clement started pushing Bob out of his way to become the single owner of the company . when Bob found this out they both had a great fight . after that Clement kicked Bob out of the the company . they resolved it and became friends again but Bob wanted revenge , he was greedy for money . Bob decided to knock Clement out . Jack was hit by surprise . There was a minute’s silence and then James continued ,”he planned everything , he wrote a letter in name of a anonymous threatening Clement for his life . he got in touch with this masked man who helped him run the whole plan . that night we went to clement’s house . we sat down , drank a cup of tea while Clement saw that letter . he called Bob to come over and take a look. Bob came at the the back and while he was reading he…he..he did it , he killed Clement .” Jack was still and didn’t know what to say . James said ,”Bob said that if we disclosed this to anyone he would drag us into the matter . this is why we I kept quite . I can give one more tip , Bob and the masked man are going to meet today night in the old broken house near the graveyard to discuss about the next plan .” Jack said ,”thanks James , you have done the right thing, now we will handle the rest .” James then went out in a hurry . Jack called a meeting after some time . he said ,”I have found the culprit or murderer of Clement . so , tonight he will be coming at the broken house near the graveyard . I will go in first . the people who will come out of that house will be the culprits . you should surround the house . they should not escape , arrest them . if anything happens to me remember that I have made a detailed report on the case and kept it in my drawer .
Remembering all these that had led him to a point of no return , the point of death .He tried to stand up and see through the glass . He saw Bob and the masked man being hand-cuffed . this made him happy . He fell to the ground , in relief breathing the last breath of his life rather a honorable one . the officers were a little late and could only find Jack’s dead body lying in relief , the relief of solving a mysterious murder which took many twists and turns . Bob was given a death sentence for Clement and Jack’s murder . the masked man was identified as Sam , a wanted criminal and was given life imprisonment . Jack was saluted , hailed for his dedication towards his work , after all he was the only one who knew Bob was the murderer on the first day of investigation……
