📖Chapter 1: My story📖

Hey, My name is Annika. Right now we are in the middle of a deadly virus outbreak. I keep this journal so if I survive I can tell my adventures to many other people. This virus isn't like others, If you get it you can turn into a zombie. Or even worse your brain can just stop and you walk around like a zombie but you don't eat brains... You just give people the virus and kill them or turn them into one of the zombies or let's call them Virus spreaders. Lots of people have died and or been turned into zombies and virus spreaders. There are still many surviving and fighting for their lives. My family has survived, Brenna has survived, Lily survived and Leah survived.

Emma died 3 weeks ago at the beginning of the virus. She didn't want to turn into one of the bad guys so she asked her best friend, Brenna, to shoot her... Brenna still has the terrible memories of having to shoot Emma but she knows that Emma wanted her to do it. Brenna got past the fact that Emma is dead, we never talk about it. We don't know if Fin is dead or alive. We haven't seen him since the beginning of the virus outbreak.

We are running low on food supplies so we have to go get some from the school cafeteria. We all get ready and pack our weapons. I and Lily usually go get the food but today Brenna wanted to go with us. We head out to go get food, today is strange. There is nobody outside. "Maybe the zombies and virus spreaders are just hiding..." says lily. Brenna says "Yeah, probably... We should keep a lookout and maybe take out our weapons so we are prepared". I say "That's a great idea, Brenna, glad we brought you along". We all take out our weapons from our backpacks. Brenna says she hears footsteps behind us. We turn around and see a figure... We think it's a zombie so we slowly move closer. Brenna takes her bat and swings it at the figure. The figure says "Ow! What did you do that for?!" We are all very confused for a moment and then Brenna says "Wait, I recognize that voice... Brody? Is that you? " Brody walks towards them and takes down his hood "yeah, why did you hit me with a bat?" Before Brenna can answer him, I run up and hug him. I say "We thought you were dead Brody. Where have you been?" Lily says "Do you have your dog? Where is your family?" Brody says "My family left me by accident..." Brody's dog walks up and stands beside him. Brenna goes and hugs Brody's dog. I say "You never answered my question...". Brody says "I have been walking in the woods, finding food and trying to survive". Brenna says "We are going to get food right now, You should come with us". "Okay," Brody says. We start walking to the cafeteria and when we get there all the food is gone. We start moving things around and then Brenna finally yells "I found a big bag of food! The lunch ladies must have hidden it for people to find later in life!" We grab the bag and run home. We get back to our hideout, which is Leah's house because it's the biggest even though it is pretty far away from the school. We knock on the door 6 times to let Leah know it's us. Leah opens the door and says "Oh. Brodys here... Greattttttt" Brody says "Wow... Leah is here... what a surprise..." Brody and Leah are frenemies. I say "Can you two stop so we can come inside?" Leah moves out of the way and we all walk in. Leah closes the door and locks it back up. We walk into the kitchen and unload the food we brought back. There is a lot of food, it fills up the whole pantry.
