Just a little memo, I am watching Markiplier's play through the the game. That is how I am getting the dialogue for this.
Y/N POV:
Thud! My feet hit the icy hard ground. The pain shooting up my ankles doesn't register in my mind. The things that I am feeling are far too important, shame, grief, and regret. I should've been there, right next to her when she died. I should've at least died with her. I should've stopped her from jumping down. I should've done a lot of things. I regret doing a lot of them. I regret not doing some of them.
Just a few seconds later I can hear Ethan's feet fall to the ground from the ledge. I look back at him and he gives me a look that basically says, Damn I'm glad I'm not you, but sorry anyways. I look away, not wanting his pity. What happens after is something that I never thought would happen--Ethan hugs me.
His arms wrap around me from behind, he is unnaturally warm, I just figured that it was from the fire we just escaped. He was very strong and muscular, he held me tightly. All the emotions that I've been trying to keep at bay came flooding out. I grasped onto his arms and sobbed my heart out. I thought of Elena's face as she fell, how she looked at me. The same eyes she would give me as a child, so full of love and hope. Now they were lifeless, empty sockets, once so full of wonder now dull.
I thought of my father. We never truly got along but I loved him dearly. He was the only parent we had left. He was the one who taught me how to ride a bike. He taught me so many wonderful traits that I now use everyday. I am so grateful for him. I just wish that he was proud of me. I tried my best to make sure that we had food and warmth, but he always complained. I loved him dearly and I felt that it was my fault that he died and killed all those innocent people.
I cried until I physically couldn't anymore. I don't know how long it was, minutes or hours I wouldn't know. Still, Ethan kept his tight grip on me. Protecting me from the outside world. And for a second I thought that everything might be ok.
~~~
Once I gathered myself together, Ethan let me go. I turned around to face him. There were faint traces of tears on his cheeks.
"Were you crying?" I ask him, worried that I did something wrong.
"Yeah," he said, bashfully, hiding his face. "I felt really bad that you had to watch the remaining of your family die like that. I felt like I could've done more to help you."
"Ethan," I said, walking up to him. "You did so much for me and my family, I thank you so much for that. I will help you find your daughter, no matter what the cost." I hug him once again, showing my gratitude for this strange man who showed up at the perfect time.
"Ok, now we're talking," Ethan said smiling. He walked over to this small box that Luiza kept outside her house. It acted as a shrine for Lady Dimitrescu, it held the other dinner plate sized disc that lead to the castle. Ethan brought out the small screwdriver that he found in the keys and used it to open the latch on the box.
"Let's go find your baby," I said walking towards the gates. As I reached towards the handle of the gate to push it open, two loud gunshots rang through the still air. Ethan and I both paused and looked at each other. I grabbed my gun from my pocket and Ethan grabbed his. Ethan walked ahead of me. Loud groaning of someone in pain was heard on the other side.
"Who's there?" Ethan called out as he and I pushed on the heavy gate.
"Stop! Mother Miranda!" the voice called out. As we burst through the gate, Mother Miranda's figure was seen holding a man's body up. When we saw her and him, she ripped his heart out, silencing his screams. Mother Miranda laughs and disappears into the thin field of wheat.
