It had been so long since you and Druig split off from the other Eternals to live a secluded life in the Amazon's. It had been so long, in fact, that you have almost forgotten what the others looked like. You'd think that after 7000 years together you'd be able to remember.
Obviously you love Druig. If you didn't, you wouldn't have followed him like a lost puppy that one unfortunate day.
The current date is February 2nd, 1964. You had gone on a little day trip to England just to get back on the grid for a while. What you saw, or really, what you heard, you could say it changed your life forever.
Druig stood in temple, giving his usual Sunday sermon about his time with the Eternals. Thankfully, you entered the temple just as everyone else was clearing out.
You greeted him with a warm hug, and the largest grin plastered onto your face. He quirked his eyebrows at your joyous expression.
"Enjoy your trip?" he asked, hands immediately grappling onto your waist like you were a lifeline.
From behind your back you pulled out a small round disc. His eyebrows furrowed even more as he took the small black saucer into his hands. He skimmed over the writing on the disc that read out: THE BEATLES PLEASE, PLEASE ME and FROM ME TO YOU
"The Beatles?" he quipped, handing the single back to you. "Dru, they are only the most popular band right now. I learned all about them on my trip," you exclaimed, your eyes lighting up as you talked about your newest interest
Druig could understand that since you rarely left the small, secluded, off-the-grid area that was his commune, why you would be so interested in things that were so different from the life you lived.
"Very nice. They're from London?" he questioned. You could tell he was trying his best to seem interested in the band. And for that, you were thankful.
"Liverpool, actually. But close enough," you giggled, placing a small peck on his cheek. "I'm going to go check in on everyone, is that okay?" you asked.
"Perfectly fine," Druig replied. You gave him a wave and a smile as you skipped off.
And that's when it hit him, he needed to do something nice to show how much he loves you.
It had taken him days, but he had the perfect surprise for you. He had a group discussion with everyone in the commune except yourself, he let them know that the two of you would be gone for a few days and that they needed to never leave the premise, no matter what.
The next step in his master plan was to get you on board without giving away too much. The two of you had a conversation and you came to the mutual decision that the best way to do this was for Druig to mind control you until you got to the secret location.
You trusted Druig with your entire soul so of course you said yes. And so, the plan was in motion.
The two of you left the commune early in the morning on February 9th. As soon as you stepped foot outside, your eyes turned gold. The same gold that tinted Druig's usual blue orbs.
The rest of the journey was a blur as you were completely unaware of anything going on. Before you left the commune, Druig had advised you to put on a fancy outfit. You didn't question him and so you put on your favorite dress that Sersi had mailed to you a few years ago.
When you finally regained consciousness you noticed you were standing in the crowd of a stage. You turned to Druig who was standing next to you. You could tell he was uncomfortable but nonetheless, he plastered on a toothy grin and handed you a ticket.
As your eyes skimmed over the small paper, you let out a squeal. Somehow, Druig had managed to get you tickets to The Beatles concert. And not only their concert, but their first concert in America.
Without hesitation you embraced Druig in a tight hug. "Thank you, thank you," you mumbled into his chest.
"Anything for you, my beautiful Y/n," he whispered, placing his chin atop your head.
The small moment of peace quickly ended when the screams of hundreds of teenage girls engulfed the room. You pulled away from Druig and turned to the stage as the four boys walked out.
You jumped up and down as they started to sing. You're an Eternal. You've experienced wars, and creation, and evolution. Yet, this might've been the coolest thing you've ever seen.
You turned to Druig, a knowing look in your eyes. Druig hated going outside. He hated having to leave the safety of his commune. But you could see the small grin that lit up his face as he slightly danced around to the music.
Leaning in, he whispered in your ear, "Who's who?"
"Oh, okay! So, that one's Paul. That one over there, that's George. That one is John. Oh! And the drummer, that's Ringo!" you explained, pointing to the four boys on stage. Druig nodded before nuzzling his head against your shoulder.
"Thank you for this. For everything, really," you added as you interlaced your fingers with his.
"And thank you for coming with me, for trusting me. I love you, beautiful Y/n. I love you so much," Druig let a content sigh leave his lips.
Nothing pleased him more than seeing his Y/n truly happy. That was the best gift of all.
