Dreams. Dreams are fleeting, like the wind. We hear them, feel them but... we can not always see them through until the end. That certainly never stops mortals from trying. But, I'm mortal too. So then why? Why is it that I myself never dream? Alone in lucidity perhaps. But never do I dream of myself nor dream on my own. Perhaps it's because...
(HEAVY KNOCKING)- "OPEN THIS DOOR NOW!! Do you even know what time of day it is!?! You lazy good for nothing-!" Before the voice of an angry woman could finish speaking, the door she was banging upon opened to a young man dressed only in wrinkled trousers, staring tiredly in a blank face. "Geez. You're such a lazy child you know that?! You're 16 and still struggle to even sleep right. I remember when-" Again the woman is cut off, "I didn't have work today but I guess if you thought I was dead, sorry. Besides, I normally make my own breakfast and you know that. So why is it that today you're so adamant?" His voice was not even held back by a tired tone and despite his youth he sounded more like a grown young man than what he was. Soft and soothing but clear to the point.
"Because today you have a surprise I set up and you are NOT going to spoil it with your lack of timing, mister." Said the more calm voice of the woman. The young man rubbed his eyes and growled softly in disappointment, "Can't it be casual?" The woman snapped at the young man "No!! Why do you ALWAYS want to dress like a pig!?" The boy stared with a more upset look, "Just because they are less wealthy doesn't make them pigs, mother. Maybe you could for once decide to NOT bash the same economic class that WE were so often? You're not even a queen-"
A sudden slam was heard to silence him, the woman's fist was against the door to the boy's chambers and he looked at her mark before back to her, "Fiiiiine.... but that door is going to have to be fixed if you keep abusing it." She snarled herself as she composed herself, "I wouldn't BE smashing this wretched thing if YOU grew up for once. Get dressed and hurry up downstairs. We'll just have a meal when we arrive."
"Ugh! Damn elves..." The boy uttered under his breath as he made his way to his dresser and prepared for the day.
