Mom said cutting off Jessica before she said anything else.
"Kyle and me will go anyplace that has our name on it." Nigel said
"Bingo! Come on"Dad said getting excited that some of us want to go
"Yeah well I love the lake, I'm in." Charlie says over the phone.
"Well I guess I can cancel a couple of gigs"Henry says
Bud and Nora whisper for a second before agreeing to go
"We agree to Participate." Jessica and Kim say at the same time.
"Come on guys well bring the wakeboards we'll totally dominate Sarah tries to convince us"
Mike and I look at Mark who answers for all three of us
"Okay we're in."
"And that leaves Lorraine." Dad says getting closer to the phone.
"Come on you'll have fun."I say as everyone else try's to coax her to come.
"All right you guys, here's the deal. I'll go to the lake if Dad stops nagging me about not going to NewYork anymore."
We all look up at Dad
"Deal. That's a dozen. We're going to the lake." Dad yells
In the van
"Who cut the cheese?"Kyle asks
"Gunner farted" Jessica says
"Gunner is laying on me" Sarah complains
Mike shoots an arrow that sticks to the rearview mirror.
Mom says that Lorraine and Charlie will join us in a couple of days
And dad starts complaining about them not getting here sooner when Mike shoot another arrow and it hits dad in the arm. We drive a few more miles and officially make it to the house
"All right. Remember this? Look at the lake."dad says as he stops the car."
"Once we finally all got out and I finally got to stretch my legs I see the house that looks... ummm exactly like how we left it."
"Three years ago."
As everyone is complaining Henry says
"Yeah, why can't we rent that place?"
We all turned to see what looks like it could be a vacation resort.
"Oh, well, that, that place is new. This place is...
"Older, but still nice." Mom says helping dad finish his not so believable sentence.
"Yeah and that might have a water slide, but, but, our place has, uh... "there are stairs that are fun."Mom says once again finishing dad's sentence
"Yeah, so, unload, camper dudes!" Dad yells changing he subject.
"Girls in the north bunk room, boys in the south. Bud and Nora in the loft! Come on!" Dad yells
As someone pulls up. He looks familiar but I don't know why he does.
We all head inside when Mom and Dad go talk to them we look around and the girl twins scream.
Mom barges in asking what's going on.
I tell her to stop as everyone else goes shhh!!!
"The Chiseler." Henry says
"Tell me those aren't my keys."Dad said seeing it on the table.
"Get him outside, okay?" Mom says barely moving a muscle
"I remember how to handle this little guy." Dad said getting ready
"I can't believe he's still alive." Nora said from the top of the stairs.
"You know that thing?" Bud questions with wide eyes.
Dad goes for him but misses and Mark is struggling to hold Gunn down before he got out of his grasps and jumped over the couch to get the mouse.
Dad dives in front of the mouse trying to get him. When it changes directions and runs straight for its hole dropping the key in front of it.
"what was that?" Asked Nigel
"The Chiseler? He's a pack rat. He steals stuff and hides it in his hole." Henry answers
This is quite an interesting way to start our vacation.
