tom knew he was different, different as in mentally and not how his eyes were physically pitch black. mentally as in people didn't think like him, maybe the way he'd pick up interests and become obsessive with them and then suddenly drop them should've been a red flag. or the way he couldn't stay still sometimes, the urge to flap his hands and harshly blink should've been the second red flag. maybe the way clothes, foods, and sounds all physically made him feel like dying should've been the biggest red flag. of course edd noticed, it's hard to ignore how he'd avoid certain foods as if they'd kill him or how he'd start crying and shaking if someone walked to loudly sometimes. tom was autistic he found out, it really shouldn't have been a surprise with how many red flags there were
