Hux pushes the piece of paper he was holding back toward Vi. "And you bring this to us now?" Hux raises his brow towards his Captain. "After you've had it for days, weeks now. Long enough for it to be studied and translated?"

Vi snatches the paper off the table, narrowing her eyes at Hux. She nods. "Listen sweetie, if I brought this to you untranslated you know what you'd say?"

She pauses.

"You'd ask me to decipher the damn thing, so that's exactly what I did. To then have the full message brought to your desk, to cry about. Does that sound about right?"

Hux bites this inside of his bottom lip, his mouth twisting into a sneer. So much fucking tension. These people really hate each other.

"Can't you just track where the message came from?"

You surprised yourself by your words. Why do you care? If someone is out there threatening to kill Ren and Hux, aren't they doing you a favour?

General Hux and Captain Vi's eyes cast to you. You don't need to turn around to know Kylo is looking toward you too.

They look at you with a jeering expression. You can't determine whether it's because of your sudden interest in the conversation or that you spoke in general.

Vi looks you up and down, her brows furrowed in a mocking way. "The whole point of a private transmitter is to be confidential. We conceal the location of the sender in case they're in a secret location. If our workers want us to know where they are, they'll include it in the message."

That makes no fucking sense. Why the hell would they even have such a thing. Vi says this like it's the most obvious thing in the galaxy.

You widen your eyes and smile. Nodding your head as if you understood everything that just came out of her mouth.

Back on Takodana you worked a whole year learning the bits and bobs from a resistance control room operator. It was part of your 'training' at Castle Takodana. Most people had to learn how to use the facilities in the control room. How to send messages and receive them. Just to have the knowledge in case of the need to relocate to a new base.

Hux speaks up this time. "So what do you plan to do about it?"

Vi draws out a chair at the end of the table and sits. She inhaled slowly. "Nothing."

"What?" Hux looks at her questionably.

She rolls her eyes. "For all we know it could be a fake. Sent from some low life who was just able to hack our systems from his mothers basement."

A piece of her red hair falls over her shoulder. "The best thing to do is wait. See if any other messages come through, another threats. Wait for it to become more concerning."

Hux sits there dumbfounded. A what the fuck face plastered all over him. He isn't shy to speak his truth. "That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard."

"Oh really and how would you like for this situation to be handled General?"

Vi and Hux's argument fills the room. There voices raises as they fight with each other.

Hux stands from his seat. "I don't know, maybe if we terminate the threatener immediately we wouldn't have to wait for them to kill any of us in our sleep."

Their argument becomes background noise as you zone out. Bored out of your brain from their bickering. You cast your gaze out the window behind you. Anything to make this meeting anymore bearable.

You suddenly feel a slight pressure build at the back of your head. Sensation tingling your senses. It feels the same as when Kylo was searching through your mind.

"There is a way to track where the message was sent from."

Kylo's voice echoes through your mind. He speaks to your through a force connection.

You unhurriedly turn your stare toward him. His mask is facing the other arguing the table, until is slowly turns to face you.

You want to answer him with the connection but it breaks. Instead you silently mouth "How?" to him.

He waits a moment, before cocking his head in the direction of the door. He pushes himself of the wall and starts toward the exit.

You raise from your seat and round the table following him out.

Realisation setting in, you notice Vi and Hux turn their heads toward you.

"Where are you two going?" Hux calls, still standing at close distance to Vi from their argument.

Kylo turns to face them "Zero and I have more important things to attend to."

Hux huffs out of surprise. "More important than death threats coming from our own private transmitters?"

Ren simply nods.

Vi tucks in a chair before walking toward Kylo. She looks up at him through long dark lashes.

"You've barely said two words to any of us all meeting." You watch as Vi gently grips Kylo's cape, running her fingers through the fabric, thinking it goes unnoticed. She smiles.

Kylo grips her hand and pulls it away. "Play nice Vi," he says, straightening his cape out over his shoulders. "You know the General is a touch on the sensitive side."

And with that Kylo exits the room with you on his tail. No stormtroopers follow, just you and him in the dark halls of the ship.
