 "So

"So... where are you taking me?"

"It's a surprise, I can't tell you."

"Oh, come on, Jeffrey!"- I whine.- "Tell me. Pretty please!"

He looks at me and I give him my best puppy dog eyes. He smirks and shakes his head.

"Nope. Even if you look cute as hell right now."

I sigh and lean back on the seat. We're on our way to our date now. He came to pick me up and the only thing he told me (besides telling me that I look beautiful), was that I'm going to love it.

What it felt like a lifetime after, but it was only about ten minutes, we finally arrive.

"Are we at the beach?"

"Yep. Now, close your eyes."

I look at him, confused.

"Why?"

"Do you trust me?"

"Of course I do."

"Then close your eyes. And don't open them until I say so."- I nod and close my eyes. I feel and hear him open and close his door, and then open mine and help me out. He then leads me down the beach, always careful that I don't fall. Suddenly, I feel him stop and I do too.- "Alright. You can open them now."

I do and the sight in front of me makes me do a double-take.

"Oh my God."

"Do you like it?"

"Like it?"- I look back at him and see that he looks nervous. I approach him and wrap my arms around his neck while he wraps his around my waist, and look him in the eyes.- "Jeffrey, I love it. It's absolutely beautiful. No one has ever done this for me."

"Not even Brad?"

"Never this romantic. Really, this is... I'm speechless. It's really beautiful. Thank you."

"Don't thank me yet. You don't know if you're going to like the food or something."

"I'm sure I'm going to love it."

"Let's get to eat then."

I smile and nod. Unwrapping our arms from each other, he leads me again to the set-up and, always the gentleman, takes out the chair for me to sit. I thank him and sit down. He does the same and then calls for someone to bring us our food and drinks. Two servers come out of nowhere and one brings us two wine glasses and the bottles, while the other has our food. He places our plates down and uncovers them. It smells and looks delicious. It's simple, but I love it.

It's simple, but I love it

"Hmm, it smells so good."

"It does. I know you said you didn't like anything fancy, so..."

"It's perfect, Jeff. Really."

"Good, good. How about we make a toast?"

"Good idea. What are we toasting to?"

"To, hopefully, one of many more dates."

"Alright. To one of many more dates to come."

We clink our glasses with smiles on our faces, and then start to eat. It tastes as good as it smelled. Conversation between us comes naturally and soon, unfortunately, our date comes to an end and we're on our way back to my hotel. He accompanies me to my room and leans sideways against the wall.

"So... how was it?"

"Amazing. Perfect. Everything I've ever wanted a date to be and never got. Until now."

"I'm glad you loved it. I did too. I'm also glad I grew the balls to ask you out."

We laugh and I lean next to him, always staring into each other's eyes.

"I'm glad, too."- Then, I remember something he said.- "Jeffrey?"

"Hmm?"

"Didn't you say you were going to do something after our first date?"

He smiles and begins to lean down to me. I bit my lip to stop my own smile from splitting my face. I feel his breath on my lips and start to get anxious.

"I did, didn't I?"- I can only nod at him.- "Then I better keep my word, huh?"

He leans down even more and looks between my eyes and lips, asking for my permission. I can't take it anymore. I grab his face and place my lips on his. The kiss is sweet, the taste of the wine we drank at dinner, still present. But, all too soon, it's over.

"Hmm."- It's all I can say.

"I want to kiss you again, and dammit, do way more than that. But it's getting late, and I'm still a gentleman, so it's best if I get going."

"What if I don't want you to be a gentleman?"

"Don't tempt me, sweetheart."

"Fine, I won't. But..."- I hesitate in asking him this. He senses my hesitation and grabs my hands.

"What is it, Vicky?"

"Can you stay here, with me? We don't have to have sex or anything. But, I would like to feel you next to me."

"Are you sure?"

"I am."

"Then I'll stay. I was hoping you would ask me to, actually."

I chuckle and open the door for us to get in. We quickly get ready for bed and lay down. We lay on our sides, staring at each other and smiling.

"I had a good time with you. I really like you, Jeffrey."

"I really like you too, Vicky. For a while, now."- I go to answer him but am interrupted by a yawn, making him chuckle.- "Go to sleep, baby. I'll be here in the morning."

"Goodnight, Jeff. Thank you for tonight."

"You're very welcome. Sleep tight, baby. Goodnight."

I close my eyes and snuggle close to him. I fall asleep with a big and content smile on my face. He makes me happy.
