"Now get out of school! It's spring break!" the voice from the announcer speaks.

Everyone jumps as soon as he finishes the sentence. I bolt up with my books in hand. Martina, the nerd, is tripped by Joan, the schools richest brat.

"Miss Summers, why did you trip Martina?" Mr. Brop asks.

"School is over so technically you can't give me a detention," she fires back. Ouch. I slip past Joan and run to my locker. I repeat the combination in my head. 31-3-35. It opens with a click and I shove my books in it. I grab my book bag and I slam the locker shut. I walk down the hall. Once I get to Beck's locker, I stop and wait for her to pack up. I groan. Why does she take so long?

"Stop your groaning and let's get this show on the road," she says. Today she is coming home with me today.

"What are you guys doing during spring break?" Joan asks us. Beck swears under her breath. So do I.

"I am going to New York." It is true. Beck has bragged about her first-ever trip that is away from Helingsburg, but most people call Helingsburg 'Springbreak' because we love spring break.

"What about you, Cassie?" Speak of the devil. Uhg.

"I'm, uh, going to Florida," I lie.

"You'll have to show me pictures." And just like that she walks past us. Good God. I just love spring break. We then continued down the bright orange steps and walked out of the front door. I tugged on my denim blazer as a gust of wind blew past me. We walked to my bus, 17, and hopped in.

"Hey Cassie," the bus driver says.

"Hey Miguel," I say back. We walk to the back and take a seat. The drive home is about 15 to 20 minutes home. We talked about random stuff like upcoming movies and music. As we talked you could hear inappropriate jokes and kids swearing. They all ways get away with it. Miguel stopped at my house and we got up. I thank him and we crossed the road. I opened the front door and my mom asked the normal everyday questions like 'How was school?' or 'What did you do today?' I told her okay, grabbed my snack, and headed upstairs. As soon as we make it up, I shut the door. I plug my iPhone 5s into my iHome and my songs start to play. We decide to watch 'Twilight' on Netflix since it was just downloaded onto Netflix. I swear, the time Bella and Edward kissed, Beck and I squealed. Then we scrolled through our Instagram and posted some selfies. Then we watched youtube. I told her that we are going to go to Vidcon next year. I heard the doorbell ring. I jump off of the bed and run down the stairs. I open the front door and Beck's stepmom is standing on the porch.

"Hi Cindy," I say to her.

"Hey Cassie," she said. I moved out of her way. She can be so rude if you don't respect her. Beck comes down the steps with her bookbag hanging on her shoulder, but she doesn't stop to greet her mom. Instead she goes to the "restroom." (She just plays Piano Tiles on her phone.)

"There you are. How did you not know it was me? Was there anyone else coming. Goodness." Did I not say that she can be rude. Her real mom and dad is way nicer. Ever since her sister did suicide and her parents divorced, Beck fell apart. The only person who was there for her was me because her whole family was to "busy."

"Come on. Hurry up. Jeez, I have a meeting to go to."

"Cindy, just leave me here if your meeting is so important," Beck talks back. That is what she tells me what she is good of, talking back.

"Do not sass me, and call me mom for the love of Christ. Dad is back at home, waiting for you," she fires back.

"You are not my mom, so stop trying to fit your way into my life." Ouch, that gotta hurt. I looked over at her, while I was trying to hold my laughter. Her face was a deep shade of crimson. She looked over at me and the shade got darker.

"Be quiet, little girl. Tell her that her dad is coming to pick her up. I am not waiting for her." And just like that, she was gone.

"Is she gone?" Beck asked, peaking out from the bathroom.

"Yup," I told her. We watched an episode of The Vampire Diaries while we were waiting for her and my dad came home. The front door opened and her and my dad stepped through the door, deep in a conversation.

"Daddy!" Beck yelled. She ran and gave him a hug. Well, tried, at least. Mr. Johnson held her back with his huge hand. She stopped trying. She grabbed her backpack and walked right past him. She muttered bye to me before she stormed of. After Beck's dad left, my dad started cooking dinner. I set the table, then my mom came down. Dad brought the food in, lasagna, my favorite. We all sat down, said grace, and ate. They talked about spring break, and work. The only thing I planed on doing during spring break was marathoning The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, and Supernatural. Then one thing they were talking about caught my atenttion.

"The Burrows invited us to their Florida beach house during spring break," my mom said. The Burrows were Mom and Dad's friends in Texas. I have never met them. Why wouldn't now be a great time to make first impresions.

"What?" I said in confusion. No one ever invited us any where during spring break.

"Yea, isn't that exciting?" she said.

"Um, yes."

"Wonderful. We are leaving tomorrow." Surprise! my self-concious said to me. Oh great. I pulled out my phone and texted Beck that I was going to Florida this spring break. This is going to be the best spring break ever. After I was done eating, I ran upstairs, got my bag and started packing. I packed a couple crop-tops, different shirts, jeans, shorts, two bathing suits, underwear, and my essentials. I set the bag on the foot of my bed. I slept peacefuly that night. That morning, I got right up. Today I took a shower, brushed my teeth, straightened my red hair, put my makeup on, and got dressed. I put on a pair of purple skinney jeans, and a Fall Out Boy tank-top on. I also slipped on a leather blue blazer on. We hopped in the car and drove to Miami, Florida. The drive from Virgina to Florida wasn't that long. I put my Beats on and I started to listen to my music. Then I fell asleep.
